My DH and I have been married for 16 years. I think he is, for me, the best guy I could ever have picked. He is very kind and very patient. We are total opposites. He is conservative. I tend to lean liberal. He is quiet. I am chatty and talkative. He is an introvert who doesn't open to others very easily and I am a social butterfly. I have alot of friends and am involved in some community organizations. I joke that he and I are like Dolly Parton and her husband. No one knows who he is or what he looks like but everyone knows that Dolly is married and that her husband is content to stay in the background. That's how my DH and I are. He and I fit because he lets me be myself. I didn't have to conform to anything or anyone to make him happy because he's always loved me for who I am. Not to say we don't have our disagreements because we do, especially when it comes to politics but I can count on one hand the amount of true "fights" we have had. Not many. And while there are certain traits of his that drive me insane, I wouldn't trade my guy in for anyone. Not even Johnny Depp! I feel very fortunate that we found one another in this crazy world.
