PWD Viewpoints - ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act)

This blog is to share my viewspoints about being a PWD (Person With Disabilities) and the Disability Community.

For starters, I am concerned about the ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act). "Why?", you might ask? It is because the ADA is slowly being weakend by the US Supreme Court bit by bit. "How?", you might ask? It is because the ADA is being slowly restricted in terms of who is actually covered and is given protection by the ADA.Sad

People need to fully support the ADA. People need to contact their elected Congressmen and encourage them to fully support the ADA.

Without the ADA, the Disability Community will be in trouble. The Disability Community is fighting to make the ADA stronger instead of weaker. Please pray that the Disability Community will acheive their ADA objectives.

Hi Mirabelle____UK!  :-)

I am assuming that you are talking about these titles:

1. Disabilities Rights Activist-Advocate-Self Advocate

2.  Anti-Bullying (Peer Abuse) Activist-Advocate-Self Advocate

It is hard to explain but these titles relfects on what I do every day on my own and with other like minded people. I do not work in an official capacity for any Disability organization and I do not work in an official capacity for any Anti-Bullying organization.

There are various ways to be an Activist-Advocate-Self Advocate without working for an organization.

I hope this helps.  :-)

PRCA I also am disabled and move around via a wheelchair.  I also have a very rare and incurable disease.  Have you ever heard of the I Have A Dream Speech For Persons With Disabilities? It is based on the famous speech by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I have been trying to locate a copy and haven't been successful.  If you do or know where I could get a copy, if I miss your answer on here please send me a pm ok! Thank you....

I have never heard about the "I Have A Dream Speech for Persons With Disabilities". I would love to read it. Thanks for telling about the speech. I will look for it on the Internet. If I find a copy, I will let you know where to find it.

It is nice to meet another PWD (Person With Disabilities) on the Taste Of Home message board.
