Holiday Party

Last night we enjoyed a wonderful gathering of friends.  Lots of yummy appetizers, some new ones for a change.  Decided to experiment with little weiners and put them in the crockpot with my homemade texas hot sauce.  That was a big hit!  Tried out a recipe that got great reviews from www.allrecipes.com for a spinach artichoke dip, but it turned out stiff and hard to dip, good flavor, but not smooth and creamy as I'd hoped. Also tried a recipe for Baba Ganoush for vegan friend that joined us.  She loved it as did my daughter, not sure I was crazy about it.  Also made guacamole using the Pampered Chef mix, not impressed with that either, like the one I made from scratch last year alot better. Oh well, you don't know if you don't try.  I'm seriously looking forward to the new year & shedding a few pounds.  I'm really not sure 40 & fat is the way to be!

Merry Christmas!

I love babaganoush, but I don't have a good recipe for it.  I've resorted to making it like hummus, but substituting roasted eggplant for the chickpeas.

Could you perhaps post your recipe, either as a BLOG entry or on the Kitchen Chat page?
