This question doesn't really pertain to the forums, but rather to the recipes in the ToH website database. Over the years, I have come to rely heavily on the feedback from other cooks when trying a new recipe. I now read through all of the reviews of a recipe prior to attempting it myself. The opinions and experiences contained within those reviews has made a big difference numerous times in how successful the recipe is for me. But now it appears that years worth of reviews (in fact, all reviews written prior to May 2011) have been deleted from the database. Why, I wonder, was that done? This was invaluable information, voluntarily contributed and painstakingly written by thousands of home cooks from across the country. In my opinion, their removal really diminishes the value of the recipe database.
Christy those reviews are all still there - there must be some sort of glitch not connecting them. Can you post a link for me to one of the recipes you're talking about?

Thanks - I've put the question in for the techs. I'm not convinced there's actually a problem - the difference in numbers between what shows for the number of ratings when you do a search & the number of actual reviews may be the difference between someone clicking the stars & actually writing something.
This recipe has reviews going back to 2008

Thanks, Sue. I am absolutely certain that those reviews are missing only because they're a couple of my favs and I've read through their extensive lists of reviews a couple of times. I've also contributed reviews to both of those particular recipes myself, which you can see are no longer there. Here's another example of a recipe I've reviewed myself in the past but now shows NO reviews at all:

Here's another one I personally reviewed earlier this year that now shows only reviews from May 2011 and later:

Thanks for the info - we're still checking it out
Gotta love a good mystery, right?

Abso-tively! ;)
Looking forward to a positive outcome.
Does it help to narrow down the problem if I continue to provide additional examples of recipes that I'm absolutely certain are missing all of their old reviews? Here's another one:

Incidentally, I've also come across some recipes that have reviews going back about a year further, but which I'm pretty confident are missing reviews prior to that. However, since these others are ones I did not personally review, I cannot be 100% certain as I am with the first group.
Any word on this, Sue or Eric?

Christy I just wanted you to know I've brought this issue back to the table with the techs. I know it's been a while, I didn't want you to think it had been forgotten.
Thanks for the update, Sue. :)
Christy these have been restored, if you come across others that are missing let me know.
