Cabbage and onion ,sliced as thin as possible. Carrots sliced with a peeler, ( to get very thin slices). Saute all together in as little oil as possible. Salt & pepper to taste. I loved this dish, but then as most of you know I'm wierd anyway. I would like to know if anyone else likes this dish?
Dieting or not, I like similar dishes... do the same with very thin slices of cucumber, and all the other same ingredients, and eat it all raw, like a salad, with a bit of olive oil flavored with Mrs Dash herb and garlic.

Both sounds good to me!!
I will have to try it (but I might use a tad bit of cider vinegar or red wine vinegar just because I like it and it is good for you).

I tried this for dinner tonight. OMG, it was fabulous. I used the veg peeler and added some yellow squash and cooked it everything until it was tender crisp. At the last minute I added some thinly sliced celery, onion salt and some Italian Seasoning. It was to die for. This is a keeper as far as I'm concerned. Next time I will try it cold as a salad with thinly sliced tomatoes and a little Italian Dressing. YumO.
Cabbage diet however, are short-term diets that do not promote a healthy eating lifestyle. I do tuna, saltine crackers and carrots all the time when I neded to diet and works.
Always in quest for the perfect lamb recipe.
I love any dish with cabbage. You can do so much with it cold or warm. I don't think anyone was referring to the cabbage diet when she posted her recipe. I always have a head of cabbage in the fridge along with celery, carrots, onions and garlic. You can do anything with those ingredients.
I love it or any dish containing cabbage. I add chicken smoked sausage.
I add a can of diced tomatoes and some ground turkey, very very good.
Sounds good to me! Many people say they dont like cabbage but to be honest its cook bad so often that if they tasted properly i think many of these people would actually like it :)
When I was on a diet I ate a lot of oatmeal since it's very light in the stomach. I would eat it for breakfast and for dinner and I would only have heavy meal for lunch . It's good though sometimes I get sick of it and it becomes tasteless. When it happen I would replace oatmeal with a lot of fruits specially watery fruits.
I ate a ot of green beans! I love green beans: with almonds, with diced tomatoes oil & vinegar, with tabouleh for a salad, with strips or cubes of seasoned chicken, hot with some leftover steak tidbits, with fish, with 2% cheese melted on top, in marinated bean salad, and just plain green beans! Green beans are filling and tasty!
Now, i also prepare a lot of veggie sides like from TOH also.
Well...we're weird and we eat that way! We eat lots of cabbage and carrots and onions sauteed as you mention. I always put a little of my own chicken broth or a lowfat veggie broth in to make a sauce because I usually put the above on top some whole wheat noodles or rice. I always slice lots of cabbage so I can make some soup to freeze when I have my broth thawed.
