I am so glad that I saw this post!! I have been looking for something different to do for my family this year!! Last year I did cookie mix and soup mix in jars for everyone.

ladyhawk--bump means a person wants a particular post to be at the top of the list--so she/he types bump as a response--the BB automatically lists posts with the latest post responded to on top of the list.

The same effect is achieved by actually making a response, but bump is used when the person has nothing to add.

Putting a post at the top enables someone to find it easier--for instance, if I'm on kitchen chat and a person has a question which was dealt with extensively in hints & tips, rather than trying to condense the info. down in a new response, we can refer her to that post--and it's easier to find if it's near the top.

Another reason to bump is if a question's been asked but not really answered (or a person wants more opinions--participants are FULL of those!) you can 'bump for more responses.'

Occasionally someone gets in to a bump-fest and it's unclear WHY they're bumping--but if it suits them, no harm done!

Grelo: You said you were making some this year in quart jars. Have you done this before? I would prefer qts. instead of pints, cause I have a lot more quarts and wouldn't have to purchase pint jars.
