  • Jam too thin, what can I do?
I made some peach jam from peaches that were so joicy. I used my regular recipe but now it doesn't look like it will set up. Is there anything I can to thicken it? Other than to re-boil and seal again? I know I could use it as syrup for panacakes but I really wanted to use it as jam.

    Thanks!

You can go to the sure jell website and they have a recipe that is to make over the jelly or jam. It calls for a little more pectin and to cook boil for 1 min. Check it out it worked for me. If you can't find it let me know and I will see if I can find it.

Here's the fix recipe for the jelly or jam.
    qt of jelly , mix 1/4 c. sugar, 1/2 c. water, 2 T. lemon juice, 4 r. powdered pectin.
boil hard 1/2 min. Remove from heat. Fill jars. Turn upside down on lids and let set 5 min. Turn right side up.

    It works.
