Ever since all the companies started making the toasters with the centering grate in them, none toast well at all, IMO. I've bought and returned at the very least 6 different toasters due to uneven browning and drying out the bread to almost styrofoam. Is there a toaster out there that works as well as the older ones? If so which one is it. Or do I just have to go to some thrift stores and garage sales to get one that works right?
Thanks for any and all help
That is exactly what I did.... went to a local thrift store and purchased a 1940's toaster. Everyone says this toaster makes the best toast!Prior to this I also was sick of dried out, partially toasted bread!~~Vicki
The Dualit toaster is one of the best. It's made in Britain and all of the parts are replaceable. It toasts evenly like an old fashioned toaster. There is a US 110 volt model. The downside, it's $ 240 for a 2 slice toaster and $ 340 for a 4 slice toaster.
