Sometimes I think having an electric handmixer would be so handy - when I do not want to drag out the big mixer for one batch of cookies or to whip something small and quick.
As a kid I often mixed cookies by hand and they were fine - but seems that I really couldn't have creamed the butter.....very well. Sometimes it seems it would be very handy....
If you have one - what is your opinion - never use or can't live without?

Andrea, an electric hand mixer is handy when I don't want to pull out the big KitchenAid stand mixer. A couple/few years ago, I bought a 9-speed KA hand mixer that was marked down (under $40). It has beaters, dough hooks, whisk, and blender rod. However, I only use the beaters and whisk for whipping egg whites/cream and mixing batters. (It may be capable of heavier mixing, but I've never tried it.)Check the specials on the KitchenAid website. Also, you might get a good deal using Bed, Bath & Beyond discount coupons with a sale or rebate.~~Vicki
By the way, KA website has two markdown sites:1 - Outlet (usually has more items than Specials)2 - Specials~~Vicki
Vicki - thanks for your response! I was thinking the same thing - so many times I just more than what I can do by hand - but don't want to drag out the heavy KA!
Thanks for the tips - I will check them out!
You're welcome, Andrea. ~~Vicki
I have a Kenmore hand mixer that I bought several years ago. I love it - there are times that it's really handy. Just make sure you buy a good one - make sure it's labeled to do bread dough or cookie dough. You want some power in your hand when you want it!

16281628, I have a Kitchen Aid Mixer that was given to me as a birthday gift from my 3 daughters several years back, but I also have a hand held electric mixer. I seldom use the Kitchen Aid Mixer, and always seem to reach for my hand held mixer instead. I find the Kitchen Aid Mixer is more of a dust collector item in my kitchen, but... it does work well when mixing up a batch of Braunschweiger Paste, which I make twice a year.
