My friends at Christmastime, just tell me to give them Almond Roca and nothing else.
Almond Roca
2 cups sugar
2 cubes real butter
Sliced Almonds to cover cookie sheet
1 cup or more, chopped almonds
1 large Hershey bar, 8 oz. or more, broken into large pieces.
Cook sugar & butter until the color of peanut butter. If it separates, just keep stirring. When it is almost done it goes back together. Something to do with the fat content of certain butter. Put sliced almonds to cover a cookie sheet. Pour the sugar mixture over nuts. Cool slightly. Top with Hershey squares. When melted, smooth over top. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Pat into chocolate gently. Let cool competely. Break into pieces.

RE: almond roca
I think a "cube" is a stick, or 1/2 c.
