I need help! At Easter I helped the youth of our church make small peanut butter chocolate eggs to sell as a fund raiser. We made 50 dozen and they raised $400.
I got a call last evening and they would like to make the same type of candy to sell at a Fall Festival, but shaped like pumpkins.
I really don't know where to start.
When we did the eggs, I mixed up peanutbutter, melted butter, crushed graham crackers and powdered sugar and they formed them into egg shapes and then we dipped them in chocolate coating and let them set up. I them piped at rose bud and we packaged them 12 to a box.
Any suggestions (other than leaving the country!) will be greatly appreciated!

If it was me I think I would look for molds from Wilton and a Wilton "candy book". Hope this helps! Good Luck. Go online and search for Wilton Candies.

The peanut butter mixture you used for the eggs is similar to what I use to make Buckeyes, and I've made them in egg & heart shapes, too.
I am sure you could use the same mixture and make it into pumpkin shapes pretty easily. Just roll it in balls and use the back of a butter knife to make some creases around the sides, to look like the indentations in a pumpkin. Then dip in chocolate just as you did the eggs. You could even do some in the orange colored white chocolate melts to look more pumpkin like. And use the green colored chocolate or royal icing to pipe a little stem & leaf on top if you want.
You have a noble cause here, but putting so much work into something and then not being able to charge what the item is worth cuz no one will purchase it is a thought as well. Not to throw water on your ideas, just remember there are a lot to be done, and the more work put into them, unless you have an assembly line of people to assist, is monumental, and sometimes won't bring in the prices you are needing to make a profit.
Just my humble opinion.
