Substitute needed for Oregano
I have a friend who can't have Oregano in anything. I'm trying to find a decent substitiute. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I love oregano...but if I couldn't have it I would probably use thyme or basil or both in beef dishes. Marjoram would be good with pork or chicken.

Oh, the heartbreak of it all! Can't imagine life or spaghetti or tomato salad without it! But just experiment--marjoram is a great one, also you can use basil, parsley, rosemary (just a pinch!), garlic, depending on the recipe. In fact, if you have a well-seasoned recipe, just leave the oregano out and maybe fine-tune the other seasonings to compensate. Good luck
