  • Question about Waxed Paper
    Hi everyone,

Was just wondering, is there a RIGHT SIDE and a WRONG SIDE to waxed paper.

Last year, and this year, I made caramel apples for the kids for Halloween. Recipe stated to place dipped apples on waxed paper, which I did.

Only thing is, the apples STICK to the waxed paper and I end up peeling the darn stuff off the apples.

    What am I doing wrong??

I told DH I wasn't going to make them any more!!!

Spray a little pam on the side you are placing the apples on and they will come right off.

No, there isn't a right an wrong side. Perhaps the caramel was so hot that it melted through the wax to the paper. You could try waving each apple through the air a few times to cool the surface, before setting it on the paper, or perhaps parchment paper would work better. (Parchment paper is silicone coated, rather than waxed.)
