New Year's Eve has been so boring here...
...I can't wait to go to sleep!
No offense to my dh but he rented Jesus of Nazareth and has spent all evening watching it. I love the Lord w/ all my heart, but this movie hasn't held my interest like it has my dh's. And on top of that it's so long.
DS is 11 and all excited about staying up until midnight. He wants to use his noise makers and drink sparkling apple cider. While he waits he's been drifting back and forth between his Playstation 2 in his room and the movie.
I'm just bored. I tried to stick it out w/ the movie but I'm not up to it tonight. I've watched DS play a couple of levels but that hasn't held my interest for long.
New Year's Eve has bored me ever since I got married. I know it's going to sound crazy but prior to getting married I always babysat on New Year's Eve and loved watching the specials on TV.
It just hasn't been the same since then.
Since we don't party or drink, there isn't a whole lot of excitement.

Isn't it sad the my most exciting New Years Eves were spent babysitting?? Basically alone since the kids were in bed by then? My dh isn't exactly a party animal and as you can tell neither am I. But I did get him to turn on the last few minutes of the broadcast from New York City and we did do our poppers and cider. I've got to figure out something a bit more interesting for next year!

We used to stay up and pop fireworks but the last few years we just go to sleep like usual. But our neighbors don't so when it turns into the new year we know it from their fireworks and all the noise. Last night people across the yard from us were having a party and their music was boom booming so loud we felt every beat here. Now most will sleep it off all day. We started our new year by going to Mass and giving thanks and praise for the past and asking blessings for the future.

We used to take the kids bowling every New Years...that's an idea for you! Clean entertainment AND they would always have free kraut and dogs! :)
