after you open the package? I usually throw it out after two or three days if not eaten. Does anyone have an idea? I don't want to be wasteful if I don't have to.

We usually keep it a week, no more.

If you know the whole package won't get eaten after it's opened, you can freeze the rest of it.

Thanks. I have two dogs that get the left overs so it actually doesn't waste.

Bologna lasts exactly one day tops at my house. That is my sons life line he eats only Bologna in a sandwhich and I must buy 6 packages a week.

I always check before I purchase and make sure it's a while before the expiration date. I also seal in a zip-lock bag over the original container. I once got extremely ill from bad bologna, so I take no chances. At most I'd keep it a week I think.

If it starts feeling a little slimey to the touch, it's supposedly no good anymore.

It might depend on how well it's wrapped up. Like after opening, keep it wrapped tightly in foil?
