How much ground Cinnamon do you use instead of 1 stick of cinnamon?

    How much ground Cinnamon do you use instead of 1 stick of cinnamon?
    I'm trying to make a batch of homemade ketchup and 2 recipes call for cinnamon sticks, the 3rd one calls for oil of cinnamon. I only have ground cinnamon in my cupboard ... how much should I use?

    I hope I'm asking this question at the right place.... this is my first time here. Will need to find my way around.

    Post it over in Recipes too. If the recipe calls for stick cinnamon, I would use that and not sub. Just my opinion.

    1 stick of cinnamon equals 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.

    Oil of Cinnamon is very different.  I recommend not trying to substitute with that.  You can usually find it in a specialty spice store.
