Several years ago, I tasted cookies made by a co-worker that included the Fannie May mint meltaways. I can't remember the specifics - but the candies were either wrapped inside the cookie dough or placed on top - but I think they were inside a buttery shortbread type cookie, then possibly frosted with a buttercream icing.

DH just received two boxes of Meltaways (yum!) as gifts at the office, and I'd love to try to recreate these cookies if possible.

you could look up a bon bon recipe and put a mint in the center and bake.
I make bon bons using chocolate chips, or raisins, or candies cherries in the center before baking.

Well, there's an Andes mint surprise cookie on the Recipes board which sounds close, so I think I might try that one.
