  • How can I soften cookies that baked up too hard?
I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies, and I think I baked them too long, because they are very hard. I would like to soften them up a bit, and wonder if anyone can tell me what to do to make them softer? Any help will be greatly appreciated, especially by my husband. Thanks!

Seal them up in a baggie with a piece or two of bread.

Put a slice of bread in the container with them.

I have tried the bread trick and my hard cookies end up falling apart when I try to pick them up. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Thanks for asking as I'll be watching here for advice.

Dunk them in coffee. I don't think you can soften the cookies after you have baked them too long.

or hot chocolate-Yum! It does not matter around here-they will be consumed pronto.

A slice of apple or an orange section will do the trick, too.

Thank you all for your help. I put the cookies in a large baggie, and put two pieces of soft bread in with them, and the cookies have softened up already. They are just perfect! I really appreciate your help.

all those things work; but the fastest way is to put them in a sealed container; with a small cup of water; will soften in a few minutes.
