Got some more sweet tea tonight, and it still tastes different. AND, I have a horrible cramping in my stomach. I know my sister can't use Splenda, because it gives her stomach distress.

I'll have to ask her if she had any problems, she was there too, and we ate together. She had tea too, but, said she didn't taste any different. might be just me.

I would think that they would have to advertise that it was sugar free and artificially sweetened. Perhaps the tank the tea was in wasn't clean or something like that.
Me--I couldn't survive without Splenda. I'm glad it doesn't affect my tummy.

Splenda is sure a lot more expensive than sugar, so I doubt they would be using that.

According to the McDonald's website, it's made with
"Water, sugar, orange pekoe and pekoe cut black tea"

I don't like it because of the black tea. I pretty much avoid ALL restaurant teas because of that.

THanks, Bratnella. I didn't know that.

But, maybe it is my taste buds, the last few times I have gotten some, it tastes different than usual.

    The pain is subsiding, now.

I use Splenda all the time and love it. I also love tea.

If you want a great glass of tea go to Cracker Barrell or Bob Evans. They have the best.

I don't think so Cat, as I think I'd be able to taste it, and I can't detect any taste. I've used Splenda lots, and though its good, I can always tell.

Jenni, they have it here in Western PA. I love it!!!

I bet the tank needs cleaned Cat!

If they are they have to inform people of its use. Many people are allergic to Splenda and other sugar substitutes. I would take into consideration all of what I ate at McDs'. Besides maybe you were just having a "sugar rush" which can give a feeling of nausea and that cramping feeling you were having.

It's not how you start, it's how you end....so end strong!!

    Walk yourself strong!!

  • RE: Do you suppose that McDonalds is using Splenda in their sweet tea?
If they used Splenda they would have to say so as many people are allergic to it and other substitute sugars. I would be more apt to consider any foods from McDs'. Perhaps you were just having a "sugar rush",nausea and cramping such as you had.

Now this is weird! First post did not take a while ago when I tried to post so did so again when I came back from walk with dog. Now I see the other post is there. Have been having trouble this morning with posts not posting. Is it just me?
