I got the kitchen cleaned yesterday and now am ready to start doing some of my baking for the holidays. I make both cinnamon rolls and orange sweet rolls. I am thinking of making them ahead of time and freezing them. The question is, can I frost them and then freeze them or should I leave them plain and frost them when I am ready to use them?
Anyone have any suggestions?
I freeze shaped, unbaked rolls. Then get them out of the freezer,put them in the frig overnight to thaw, let rise in the morning and bake. They are perfect! I cover the pans of rolls with plastic wrap and then wrap in foil when I put them in the freezer. I've done this for years with both dinner rolls and sweet dough rolls.
