She and her boyfriend were moving to Duluth, MN this Sunday. They quit their jobs and she has been packing and getting ready to move. Her new job, his new job and their new apt in Duluth are within 2 miles. So all was going to be so convenient for them and they both were so happy to be starting a new life in a city that they love.
Then the rains came and devastating flooding. Both of their new places to work are under water, along with their new apt. And more rain is predicted. My poor DGD is in shock.
The lease on her present apt isn't up till July 10, so they still have a place to live till then. It will give them some time to decide what to do.
The only good thing about this whole thing is that they hadn't already moved, so all of their possessions are still safe.
I sure would appreciate some good thoughts for these young people. Thank you so much.

I am so sorry and prayers being sent. I am so glad they hadn't moved yet.
It's horrible there. On another forum one of the posters lives there and was telling us about the sink holes, the flooding and some of the towns being evacuated, she said more rain is expected.
Good thing they hadn't moved yet. Will keep them in prayer that all will be well.
My good thoughts for them, and adding my prayers, too.
oh my...well like you said they haven't moved yet...and suffered no damages...prayers for one and all
It's not how you start, it's how you end....so end strong!!

That is horrible! All my good thoughts are heading their way. My family is from that neck of the woods, and they're posting like heck on Facebook. I'm going to be heading that way at the end of next month. I hope things have dried out by then!
I can't even begin to imagine how they're feeling or what they can even do now. That is sad. :( Who can blame her for being in shock?

I also saw that the local zoo suffered the loss of many of their animals...what a terrible shame!
I'll keep a good thought for the kids!

I've seen some pictures...devastating for so many. Many good thoughts for your young people...think I'd be in shock just like them.
