I forgot about posting the video last year on how to cook corn on the cob in the microwave so the last time we had it I had to clean it well, making sure to get all the silk off.
Well, didn't forget this time, just popped 2 ears in the microwave, set it for 8 minutes, when done cut the end off, shook the ear out and it was CLEAN!! No silk to be seen.
Love it when it all comes together! lol
Oh cool. Good to know it works.
That's awesome!

I tried it recently, too, and was really surprised at how well it worked. The corn wasn't very good (supermarket corn) but I can't wait to try it with farmers' market corn.
This is a great tip and I will try it too. Thanks.
This is the video that shows you how.

"IT WORKED"....LOL
That's exactly what I said!
That looks so easy! Can't wait for some good corn!
I'm glad to read that "It worked!!" But am wondering...how does the corn taste after cooking it this way..not really wondering about flavor..mainly the texture of it...does it still look/feel the same??
Thank you, Souchef. I am vindicated. I told my sister about this method last month. I had seen the video earlier. Well, she laughed at me and told me if I microed corn for 4 min per ear I'd get popcorn. I couldn't find the video and was reduced to feebly repeating "but, but, but". I have just ermailed her your post with the instructions. Thanks a lot, now she won't think of me as the "senile" older sister.

Absolutely the same. I have been using my microwave to cook corn on the cob for years now but I've been cleaning it before cooking, trying to get every bit of the silk off, then wrapping each ear in a damp paper towel and covering it with plastic wrap. This way is much easier.
Try it, you'll like it!! :)

Exactly! I determine the cooking time by the maturity of the corn. Usually 4 minutes if mature and 5 min if farmers market fresh. Been doing this for the last 20 years...T
What a great idea. Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try this.
