“Look straight ahead with honest confidence; don't hang your head in shame.” (Proverbs 4:25 TEV)
You don't need to walk around carrying a load of guilt. The Apostle Paul says, “Yes, all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious ideal; yet now God declares us ‘not guilty’ of offending him if we trust in Jesus Christ, who in his kindness freely takes away our sins” (Romans 3:23-24 TLB).
God wants to forgive you. Imagine a giant blackboard with all of your sins written across it; God comes along with a giant eraser and erases it all. It's like an Etch A Sketch: You turn it upside down, shake it, turn it back up, and the slate is clean. God’s forgiveness is the same way, and that's good news, isn't it?
But we need to accept God's forgiveness. We may know about God's forgiveness intellectually, but we have to believe it, deep down inside, accepting in faith that it is true — because it is!
One thing that often blocks us from accepting forgiveness from God is that we are unable to forgive ourselves. You need to forgive yourself for your past failures and sins, for the habits and hang-ups that led you to sin. Forgive yourself! God teaches us, “Look straight ahead with honest confidence; don't hang your head in shame” (Proverbs 4:25 TEV).
Have you ever committed a sin and asked God to forgive you, and even though you know he's forgiven you, you still feel lousy? What do you do in that situation? Do you go back and ask him to forgive you again? Do you confess it over and over again?
No. You only have to confess a sin one time, and it's forgiven. But you may have to forgive yourself a hundred times and say it over and over until it sinks in: "God's forgiven me. It's over.”
Still, we want to keep reminding God of things he's already forgotten. Someone once asked Eleanor Roosevelt, “How did you accomplish so much with your life?” She responded, “I never waste time with regrets.”
Don’t waste time with your regrets. Accept God's forgiveness, and forgive yourself.
Talk About It
What is it that you need to forgive yourself for today?
Do you ever picture God keeping track of all your wrongs? How does that affect your ability to accept his forgiveness?

I posted this on fb but for those who don't "do" fb......
. Latest on mom.I will go out to three Pillars friday for a meeting with Pat (social worker) and mom. She will be told that we are all concerned for her safety and that she needs a place with more assistance. Monday Pat will drive her in to Franciscan Gardens (new place) for her evaluation..... I will be there too. I nearly fell over when Pat said she would bring her for that. First saves me a ton of driving. Also then Pat can check the Gardens out from a professional viewpoint. So things are moving along. Tom said he will be glad when she's all settled and he sees me smiling again. I had no idea that I was being such a downer. Will be good to relax a bit more about her tho. Very, very good!
Heading out for the evening dear ones.
Hi! Baby Ashlyn is out of surgery (after 5+ hours), and in recovery. That's all I know. My sister answered the phone when my niece called to let them know. Since Joyce has Alzheimer's, she really didn't have much info to convey to her DH...
Just dropping in tonight to say:
to Tammy & Bernie!
I know she doesn't make it here much, if at all, anymore. But just in case she manages to stop in
DH wants me to watch a movie with him tonight, so I'll be back tomorrow to read the lesson and catch up.
Lynnette
OK, according to the surgeon, Ashlyn's surgery could not have gone better. Thank you Lord!
Happy Anniversary Tammy and Bernie! In honor of our June Bride:
Randy, thank you for the lesson, I agree that I need to forgive myself more, hmmm. Prayers for your Mom & for her to accept the move to a place that can keep an eye on her, praying for you & Tom too.
Deb, praising the Lord that Ashlyn's surgery went very well, now praying for a complete & swift healing.

Hi Lynnette, hope you both enjoyed the movie.
I need to get to bed early tonight, please pray that this company will come in the A.M. to give us an estimate on the shower.

GM dear ones.
Giving thanks that Ashlyn's surgery went so well.
Patty, I have a real problem with forgiving myself too. Probably cuz I want to be perfect, like in yesterdays lesson. Don't do well with that either. Praying that you have a comfortable day.
Lu, praying for good results from your pastors talk with your dad.
Tom has a fistulagram this morning so I won't be around till later this aft, most likely.
Good morning. It looks like it could rain here! Oh please Lord, send rain!
Have a good day, and I'm praying for you all.
G'mornin' Everybody
I, too, have a few times in my life that I look back on and can't help but feel a pang of regret. And yes, I actually feel it, physically I know I'm forgiven, but I still feel stupid for having goofed so gloriously in the first place!
Thank You SO MUCH, God, for taking care of Ashlyn through the surgery. I now ask that You heal her completely and swiftly. Thank You!
Praying for all of us to keep our eyes and minds on the plans God has for us and to not keep looking back and regretting those times we "messed up".
The kids are on their way home as we speak, so I guess I'd best get anything done that I really want to accomplish today before they're home!
BTW, I did like the movie but I don't have any desire to see it again. We watched "The Book of Eli", which DH had taped awhile back.
Leaving a hug for each of you before I "run" off to get some work done.
Good morning, everyone.
Busy weekend for us. IL DD is going into surgery right now and we will be there soon. After a day with her, we will head back home. Then it's off to the trailer again for Aunt Josephine's funeral. Hoping for an extra day or two at the trailer for some rest.
Praying for all in the PC.
Nancy Z.
Hi everyone, checking in for the prayer requests.
Nancy, praying for your DD, hope surgery went well.
