I wanted to thank everyone who left such kind and sincere messages of sympathy on my Mother's passing. Her service, A Celebration of Life, was held Saturday afternoon.
The church was filled, her favorite hymns were played and sung, and my brother and sister did a beautiful video presentation of her life. It began with photos of her as a child right through her final years in the nursing home. There is an old song from the 40's entitled "With A Song In My Heart". When we were children she always sang this to us, and it was played as background music to the video. The Pastor said that Mom had lived with a song in her heart and that should be an inspiration to everyone there.
There was a supper afterward at the church and a time of remembrance.
Our son is back in Boston, safe and sound, and now life will go on. I am amazed at how tired out I feel.
One little mishap Sunday morning-I fell-Thought I had broken my jaw as I hit it on a stand. I landed face side down-feet straight to the floor-both largest toenails on each foot popped off from the force of the fall-they bled so much it looked like a crime scene. I ended up with one broken toe, lots of bruises and my pride broken as well.
your mom's service sounds lovely, she must have been a very special lady. Again my sympathy on your loss.
So sorry to hear about your accident, what a shock that must have been for you and I am sure you are still in quite a bit of pain. Keeping you in prayers. God grant you speedy healing.

Your Mother's memorial service sounded lovely. I'm sure that she had a wonderful life full of joy and love but no matter the circumstances we are never ready to let go of the ones we dearly love. May time ease the pain in your heart and fill your heart with happy memories. My eyes sort of teared up when you mentioned that her favorite song was "With a Song in my Heart!" One of my parents favorites too and it brought back memories of my Mom playing the piano and my dad playing his Violin! I used to have a little recored of them doing that when friends came to visit! Oh my so long ago and yet it seems like yesterday.
So sorry to hear that you fell. Ouch that sounds so painful! Take care and hope you are feeling better.

Math is fun!
You're certainly having your strengths tested, aren't you ? That was a lovely description of your mother's service...what a tribute to her life. Shuddering just thinking about your toenails....that's what they use to use as torture during the wars....and to think you did it to yourself.....and here I thought you were a SMART GUY....lol ! Doggone, I can't begin to imagine how that hurts...do take care....you've been thru a lot lately and still maintain your gentle nature. You're to be admired.

My condolences on the passing of your mother. It is rough to loose a parent. The service sounded very special.
Be sure and tape your broken toe to the next one or it will lean to the side like mine did. Broken toes are quite painful I know.
May the memories you have of your mom give you peace.
You poor man with the broken toe and ripped out toenails! That must be so terribly painful. I'm so sorry to hear that.
And also to hear of your mom's passing. But what a lovely service for her! I remember that song so well and the movie that made it popular again. It was "With A Song In My Heart" with one of my favorite actresses---Susan Hayward. I remember seeing this movie when I was about 16. It is the story of Jane Froman's life. Just beautiful music. Your mom had good taste, and I'm sure you loved hearing her sing it.
