"Yes, all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious ideal; yet now God declares us 'not guilty' of offending him if we trust in Jesus Christ, who in his kindness freely takes away our sins." (Romans 3:23-24 LB)
For the past few days, we've been studying the biblical path from condemnation to godly confidence, and I consider this so important to our ability to make healing choices that I want to lead you in a prayer today.
Maybe you've been under self-condemnation because of some unresolved guilt or unrealistic expectations — maybe both. The Bible says, "All of have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious ideal; yet now God declares us 'not guilty' ... if we trust in Jesus Christ, who in his kindness freely takes away our sins" (Romans 3:23-24 LB).
Would you like to have that burden removed?
Then pray: "Jesus Christ, I want to ask you to forgive me for all the things I've ever done wrong. Help me to forgive myself and to look straight ahead with honest confidence and not to hang my head in shame. When my past failures come to mind, instead of me coming back and begging you to forgive me again, help me to remember that I've already been forgiven. Every time that memory comes back, instead of me being guilty, Lord, I will be grateful. When that memory comes to my mind, let it cause me to praise you and say, 'What a great God you are! You've forgiven me. I'm a trophy of your grace.'
"Lord, help me to relax in your grace, to realize that you don't expect perfection. I want to take off the yoke of guilt and put on the yoke of grace. Help me to eliminate the negative self-talk in my life. I know now that when I put myself down, I am really questioning you — because you made me the way I am, the way I look, with the talents and abilities I have and the ones I don't have. You made me just to be me."
"Help me to focus my mind on the positive things and to read my Bible every day and memorize it and meditate on it. God, help me to quit trying to please everybody. I know it's an impossible task and it only causes anxiety in my life. Instead, let me focus only on doing your will. Help me to obey what you've told me to do."
"Thank You, Father, that through your grace we can get off the rat race of unresolved guilt and unrealistic expectations — those things that push us to do more. Instead, may we relax and do the things that really count. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen."

Mom day tomorrow, so won't be around..... again!
Not sure if she stops in here anymore, but I'm still here to post
to Jess! If you stop in, I wanted to let you know that I've been praying for you and I hope you have a beautiful day!
Just got done doing tomorrow's housework (bathrooms and laundry room). We're supposed to have the hottest temps in 7 years tomorrow, so I'm planning on laying low. Our bedroom is the coolest room in the house, so I'll probably spend a lot of time in there, reading and watching movies.
Happy Birthday Jess!
Randy, great lesson again, I love God he is the Greatest Father!!! Have a blessed Mom day.
Hi Lynnette, how is the sleepover? or should I say was? Hope you are feeling well.
Deb, that is great that you got your work done, enjoy reading & watching movies & especially keep cool. Hopefully our last 100-104 is over at least for a while.
We had the guys come & look at the shower in the afternoon, oh boy, he will give me an estimate tomorrow, the tile guy reccommended using 12x12 tiles on the wall & natural stone on the floor. We should be going up to Bryan on Friday afternoon & have the ladies help pick out the tile & do the designing, please pray Kenneth will go along with this company. I don't know about the tiler but the remodeler company is Christian, they go to church with friends of ours. I think we found the leak but not sure, it is leaking in the bedroom closet again & it is carpeted, I can see new carpeting going in there, if that has to happen I would like to put tile in there. I am a wreck over this, I have to shower in the other BR & it is hard to get in & out of the tub with my sore feet.
Prayers for all of you, keep cool & be blessed!!!!
Happy Birthday Jessica!!!!
Good Morning Everyone,
Not chatty, but praying.
Happy Birthday, Jess.
Hugs & Love to All,
Good morning folks! It's going to be a hot one here today, but not as hot as in Deb's area. Stay cool Deb!
Praying for all!
A quick in and out good morning to all the dear ones.
Good morning! Not chatty yet, but praying for you.
Good afternoon y'all, hoping you all are being blessed!?
Love the lesson! What a Wonderful God we serve! As I was watering flowers this a.m., I was thanking Him for His goodness and that His mercies are new every morning!
I came here last night but fell asleep before I could post. :(
Randy, praying your Mom Day goes well!
Patty, praying for your bath remodeling that it will all go well and be fixed in no time! And for the stress to be minimized!
Deb, that sounds like a good idea! I'm staying in the cool the rest of the day, too. Got out early and watered flowers and fed kitties.
Our temps are supposed to be in the 100s for the next 6 days or so. Weather guy said it is the longest running stretch of 100 degree heat since the 1930's. I'm afraid as dry as it is that we may get like the dust bowl area was, too! :(
Happy Birthday, Jess! Hope your Day is Blessed!
Now I'm praying for all of you and sending hugs!
Our expected 99 degrees for today is the hottest thus far this year for us. Praying for all those suffering unbearable heat throughout the country. Also praying for the fires to be snuffed out by God's own hand.
Randy, for you I pray the blessing of a day to just relax
Deb, out of cinnamon? How could that happen?!? I'm sure you've remedied the problem by now I've been being lazy since sending my nephew home. I've picked up another Karen Kingsbury book and don't want to stop reading! But I didn't get ahead on my housework first like you did, I'm just falling farther behind!
Cookjoy, God bless you for the encouragement you bring to the circle!
Patty, if you've read through over on Facebook, you've seen the story. My nephew was a problem at bedtime, keeping his cousins awake and then, when separated, crying and saying he missed "Papa" (my FIL). Got through that, then this morning DS#1 caught his cousin trying to steal some of his LEGO minifigures. He had them down in his bag of stuff to take home When I tried to talk to my nephew about it he was very rude to me, so I sent him home early. Thank goodness FIL agreed to come get him and agreed that we needed to send him the message that "this behavior is not acceptable".
Lu, enjoy your day! You deserve a nice, stress-free day
Hi Connie! I pray you're having a relaxing summer break. As I recall the last summer break turned into some major work for you!
Hugs all around, and remember - He already forgave you!
Hi Fay! I missed you - stay cool, okay?
Evan and Riane are getting married a month from today!
