    Hi,

Well, am back from our trek to the s of the cities. Went shopping at Target and pu a few things and came home. Dd, dgs and her new guy r off and running. I think they're invincible and r going to be out there all day. It's already 90 and when dh and I were running it was in the 80's and thought that was hot. Suppose to get up to 100 today w heat index of 110, 115. Anyway we're staying home and bought another dvd and will watch it later.

Hope all r having a great 4th, Big Smile.

Are you ready to get back at it?

We are heading into the Entrance area of your home today. Let's grab
all those shoes, books and jackets that seem to pile up right by the
front door and put them away. In my house, no one ever drops their
things there, they get up and walk there all by themselves! LOL!
Grab these things and set your timer. I bet you can do this in less
    than 15 minutes.

Today we are going to do that in the Dining Room and Entrance Way.
Let's go after the ceilings, light fixtures and window sills!

Using a feather duster or dust rag get the window sills, the light
fixtures, the dusties in the corners and the ceiling fan if you have
one (remember to put something underneath this to catch the falling
debris, one member uses an old pillow case and slips it over the
blade and wipes so the dust stays in the case, I thought this was
    brilliant!)

This is one babystep at a time! Keep Flying!

    Hi,

Dh went to work today, came home early, which was nice.

Went to the dr. myself. Have an owie on my index finger. About 2 weeks ago and each time I hit it against something it bleeds bad. So went and they said I had ____. Never heard of it, but I have it. got an appt. for Mon. at a dermatoligist. Dh has his other cateract surgery the following week so it shouldn't interfere.

Didn't do anything to the hse. today, but maybe tom.

Better go for now and get ready for bed and go early tonite. Am tired.

Hope everyone is aok, Big Smile.

    Hi everyone,

Another hot day, g can't wait for it to cool off. Said it was going to be this evening, now moved it to tom.

Dh went to work, and seems in good health, tg.

Didn't do much today either. Glad I'm keeping up, now I can just take off and be lazy or go w dh and not worry about the hse. and all.

Dd and dgs have been staying w new bf. he has a place of his own...it's been quiet around here also. Smile

Will check garden tom. and see how it's comeing along. Planted some wax beans, found out it's db favorite so will hopefully have enough for a half doz. jars or so.

Better go for now and do nothing some more....LOL, Big Smile.

    Hi everyone,

Am up and got 2nd load in laundry, dishes soaking. Showered and got dressed, now am taking a break. Nice out today, got the doors and windows open, air still came on so turned it off. Got up to 102 yesterday. Up to 91 now, but comfortable, low humidity, nice.

Got the directions printed out for the dr. appt. in St. Paul. Going to get an early start, just in case get lost. Don't know St. Paul that well, so think it's a good idea.

Dd's is at bf's place, #1 is still sleeping, dh said he was going to go out for a bike ride so it's quiet here, nice...

Well, saw that J, was on facebook so will go on and see what he's got to say. Haven't really seen him for over a year. Keep up w what's going on w him threw FB. Shaved his head, a different  look. Will keep cooler...

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend, Big Smile.

    Hi all -

Just doing a little catching up on reading the posts!

Alphy, I am an Iowan at heart.  I was born and raised there.  I have only lived in Illinois since 1994 when I married DH.  Since I live on the river I do work in Iowa making a daily trek over the bridge.  Your ricotta cheese cookie intrigued me.  I may have to do some looking - what site did you get the recipe from?

Enjoynature, you are right about the not putting things off!  Flylady calls it the "Do it Now" principle.  It seems the more you put something off, the more piles on top of it, and you wind up dreading it so much you can't bear to get started.  Whereas if you take care of that little thing NOW it won't become a big thing.  I hope you are doing well on your projects.

Good to see you Dori.  Glad to hear that DH is out of the hospital now.  You are right too about starting over - you can do that any day you wish.  Some days I've been known to start over in the afternoon!  Have you also been suffering from the heat?

How's your finger doing Linda?  I also have never heard of _____________! LOL!  Anyway, I hope it is something easily fixed.  Nice to hear you have your windows open today, if only for a little while.  We are still in the heat wave, it is 97 and steamy outside.  This is supposed to be the last day.  Tomorrow it will only get up to 86 and all next week will be highs in the 80's and lows in the 60's.  Should be a lot more comfortable.  So, do you like your DD's new BF?  Could he be "the one"?

We had a good time on the Fourth at my sister's.  Although it was so terribly hot.  DH and I drove down to a local park to watch fireworks over the river the night before.  That was fun.  Work has been going pretty good, it seems to pay off having my assistant work overtime!  She's going to do it one more week.

I got hurt at the meal site Thursday night.  I was standing behind some guy's chair having just refilled some little kid's milk, when this guy's table was called to go up for second helpings.  He pushed his chair back very fast and hard and nailed me in the hip.  I have a bruise from that!  Believe me, I have taken a lesson from that.  I have osteoporosis pretty bad, and something like that could cause a broken bone.  I will be very careful where I am standing when the coordinator is calling folks for seconds.  This guy is kind of scary, I don't think the elevator stops at all floors, and when he is meeting his needs no one else exists.  He is one of those that I would avoid being alone with in the parking lot!

I'm going to make a run to Kohl's today.  My DD has a dress to return and I need to get a baby gift.  Our step grandson has a new baby born last night.

Time to get moving, here it is noon already.  Everyone have a good day!

    Hi,

It got warm last nite so I broke down and turned the air back on.

J was on FB and copied a picture of his db, 2 ds, dm and df. Going to give a copy to my dm. #1 had to show me how to copy it. Different from my old puter...

Won't get to the dr. til tom. than I guess he cuts it off or something. Will let u gals know when I find out.

Have last load in washer, dh mowed the lawn, hasn't been mowed for 2 weeks, being it was so darn hot last week.

Congrats on the new baby, cookie. Love to go to Kohls but things don't fit well. Hope ur job knows what they have in u.

Well, better go for now, am going to shower, get dressed, gotta wash hair for tom. going to make macoroni hot dish for lunch. Take care, Big Smile.

    Good Morning!

We hit 101 degrees here yesterday.  My DD and I went to Kohl's and Target and their parking lot was so hot.  You could feel it being extra warm below your knees.  It is "only" 84 degrees and almost noon.  They say we are only supposed to get 86 today.  Thank goodness!

Must be bittersweet for you to see J and his adoptive family, Linda.  Have your ever spoken to the folks who adopted him?  Or do they even know you found each other?  Good luck with the finger tomorrow.

Got some cute little outfits and a toy for the baby yesterday at Kohl's.  I used to like Kohl's a lot more for clothes but I have become a bit more cautious.  Too many of their "Croft and Barrow" items have not washed well - tops have shrunk and become too short.  So I stay away from that brand.  I do love the "Simply Vera by Vera Wang" sleepwear.  I have quite a few of the little nightgowns.  I also do buy Levis jeans there, and also Gloria Vanderbilt pants.

Haven't seen the baby yet.  This was the grandbaby that our dear departed DIL wanted so badly to live to see.  He was born in a hospital a couple of hours away, and they actually live about an hour away themselves - so maybe next weekend.  There was supposed to be a baby shower for her today!  I guess they waited too long.

DH and I went out with his DD and SIL last night.  We saw the movie "Ted".  It's about this guy whose teddy bear magically came alive when he was 8 years old and they have been the closest of friends throughout the years.  Sounds like a kid's movie but certainly not!  I don't really recommend it.  It was rather crude!  It was nice to go out though, because we kind of got out of the habit while we were taking care of CB.

DD and I are going shoe shopping.  TTYL.
