I am off to work. The young lady who is pregnant that works in our office started her pregnancy leave Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. Jackie took chemo Friday and won't be there today. SOOOOOOOOOOOO, that leaves me and Brandi. We can do this.
Staying cool? Do you remember I live in the deep south? LOL I really haven't found it to be too bad this year, but lots of folks around me do.

Ooo Beeje you better have an extra boost in your !
Mr. & I were laughing, it's supposed to cool off to 80º this week. That's like warming up to 20º in the winter! Still cold but it feels great
Good morning! Hope you're full of pep this morning Miss Beeje - sounds like you'll need it! Yep, Sue...I always marvel how 80 feels relatively cool in the summer, but if it's 50 in the winter it feels so warm! I'm in my usual state for this time of year...dreaming of cool Autumn days!
Kitty needs to go to the vet this morning...she's not going to be too happy with me. She needs to get blood drawn. She is on thyroid med and they check her every 6 months. I hate to make her do it. She is quite the senior citizen and probably has much more going on that we'll never know about b/c I won't put her through any more than she has to. She's a sweet little thing.
Hope yo all have a great day!
How to keep Gingerbread men from running away? Eat them.
Hi, all. It is absolutely delightful here this morning. DH and I have been sitting out in the yard enjoying a cup of coffee and the nice breeze. It must be in the low 70s.
I see a trip to Walmart and Home Depot in our near future and maybe a cup of Macdonalds' senior coffee.
If I feel real energetic later, I may start a laundry (or wait till tomorrow).
Hope you all enjoy your day.

Mornin
Well, I've got my "idiot" list of "to-do's" today and so far I've only got 7 'to-do's' on it... a couple of the do's require telephone calls...and I have to wait until such places are opened for business... I lead.... such an.... exciting...... life!!
Last night DH started his graveyard shift @ work - for the next couple of weeks... decided that I'd celebrate and order myself a pizza - from Pizza Hut - I know I called sometime after 3 pm - placed my order and asked that it be delivered around 6 pm as well as I told them I'd be paying for it in cash. Well, when it was 6:15 pm I called and asked what happened to my pizza... whoever I talked to... didn't know their head from a hole in the ground!!!... couldn't find my "order" asked me several times what my phone number was.... and I repeated it several times... anyways, I got it straightened out... they told me that my pizza would be delivered ASAP.... an hour later, the pizza delivery person showed up.... he handed me a couple of receipts - asked for my signature.... apparently Pizza Hut keeps your bank info on file!!!.... I told the delivery person, that I wasn't a happy camper with Pizza Hut and having my bank info on file has just pushed me over the edge... and that it needs to be taken out of their computer!! How scarey is that??!!??!!??!!??... well, today, I think Pizza Hut management is going to get an ear full from me!! I also told the delivery person, that in the event he is required to share the tip I gave him, that he is to tell everyone that I didn't give him a tip!
Well, that was basically my weekend in a pizza box!! hopefully my Monday will be better than my Sunday!!
Two second break here! I have been busy already this morning. I had to drive a family member to work so that started the morning off. Then I stopped at the one grocery store. What a great day to stop. This grocery store clearances meat every day early in the morning. Sometimes you can find grand bargains and sometimes not. Today was the bargain day. Beef and chicken was clearanced to $2.00 and some odd cents and even a $1.00 or less then a $1.00 a package. YES!! That cheap. I love it when I can find bargains like that. I loaded up on chicken breasts, thighs, roasts, steak, and beef patties. OH! Happy day! The cashier rings up the originial price and then takes the reduced ticket on the package off. I saved $120.00. Whoopie!! That included some cheese on sale big time, and only a few other things on sale like broccoli $1.00 for a nice amount. I love when I can find meat on sale, cheese, and certain fruits and vegetables. I just placed 8 hamburgers in the oven. I was able to find them on clearance at the samegrocery store after the 4th of July for $.50 a piece. I opened two of the large packages of chicken breasts I found this morning for $2.00 and something cents this morning on clearance in the slowcooker. The chicken liquid in the slowcooker will make good stock. I should get about 6 meals out all the chicken. I was amazed once I opened the package on how many pieces of chicken breasts was layered in the package. With the ever growing prices of groceries I love when I can find bargains. Meat is not the main meal around here. I try to incorporate lots of fruit and vegetables with the meal too.
Now time for a cup of coffee and a late breakfast. Then tackle dishes, laundry, and whatever else can be fit in the morning. I would like to make another batch of cookies. I keep trying to make time for cookies. In the winter it's easy to find the time. But in the summer, it's a challenge. I want to have several batches of different cookies made and frozen. Then when the family reunions and picnics are scheduled for the rest of the summer, I can make a cookie tray to take for meals.
Stay cool!! It's supposed to be hot and humid again this week.
Good morning. It was a bit cooler this weekend so I got some stuff done. I was in a cooking mood. Besides the plum jam I made cornbread (with fresh corn and pepper-jack cheese). Grilled steaks, did yard work. A proper weekend. We did go try to climb on Castle Rock, Saturday. Unfortunately, my knees weren't really happy with me, so we didn't stay long. Still, it was nice getting there early, before the tourists showed up.
A lot of this is folk memories and cultural hangovers.
Hi Sue! Sounds like you have a good day to look forward to! My plans for today include grocery shopping, which should be fine since it is of a moderate temperature outside today. Also picking up stuff for the bridal shower for my son's fiance which will be on Friday evening. We are having meat cheese cracker things, vegis and dip, hummus and pita, and cupcakes for dessert. Maybe I should get some fruit? This shower is being put on by our church, but they have a certain thing like cake, punch and chairs sat around in a circle, and if you want anything else, you sort of have to do it yourself! I am not complaining about what they do, it is just that this is more personal to us, so we want to do a little bit more. Anyway, I enjoy planning stuff like this....
I have stacks of laundry that needs doing, also! fun.......
I have realized that the pressure will be on our youngest in just a few months, to start doing cartwheels and headstands to entertain dh and I, because our son is getting married Aug. 25, our daughter will be going back to college 2 days later, and our oldest is FINALLY ready to move out within a couple of months, so we will just have the youngest here with us. I will miss the busyness of a house full of people, but I will enjoy actually getting a craft/sewing room all to myself, dh having an office room all to himself, and getting some of the stuff we have been saving for people when they move out, out of here!
Beeje, you need to get a poster to hang up that is of that lady with the scarf on her head and her arm flexed up showing her bicep that says "We can do it!" Our weather has been so strange, taht we haven't reached 90 degrees yet this summer! Bring a jacket if you are coming to visit me!
Frenchpress, I hope your kitty isn't too inconvenienced by the vet visit. Maybe a treat or two??
Marinemom, it sounds like our days are similar today!
Sitty! What an amazing story! That is scary! Is that even legal for them to do? I would be calling as well! I liked the way you handled the tip. Good idea! Grrr! I hate it when people can't get that stuff straight and it inconveniences so much. They need to remember that you can eat anywhere you darn well please, and they need to get on the stick and do the job right!!
Enjoy, I made cookies last night, and was bad this morning and had a couple of them with milk for breakfast!
Ladyfingers, your weekend sounded delightful!!!!
Have a great day, ladies!!
Enjoying a rare day off where dh has to work so I got some time to myself. It's barely in the 80's and there's a 30% promise of rain today somewhere in the viewing area.
Only plans involve taking dd to PetSmart to get some fishies for her aquarium.

Sitty I know that feel! We order from the pizza hut a few blocks from us. One day we were out and about and I didn't want to cook as soon as we got home so I called and ordered pizza to be delivered at 6pm also. Told them it was important it not be delivered before then as we were NOT home and they said fine no problem. Well about 20 minuted later I got a text from dd (she was home but didn't answer the door) telling us the pizza guy was just there! REALLY!!!!???? I called PH back and asked them about it and they said the person forgot to put our order in the 'future' part of the computer. I told them to fix it so that it will be delivered NO EARLIER than 6. No problem they said, again. We got home around 10 till 6 and in 5 minutes our doorbell was ringing. Yep, pizza was there. Oh well....
All rightie then!! My errands 'to-do' list is all but scratched off...
I did attempt to buy the TOH magazine that has our sstetzel and Marine Mom in it - the only grocery store that I have gone to today doesn't have the magazine!! - or should I say - I couldn't find the magazine....
Sent my Army Zoo-Kid a box of good ole American Snack/Junk food! I'd like to thank all those good for nothing terrorists for having made sending packages to our children in some God forsaken country a pain in the bee-hinder!!
Went to the chiropractor - sounded like a bowl of rice crispies...Snap, Crackle and definitely a Pop or six!!
Man, forgot to stop at the bank!! I need to send the State of Idaho a direct deposit form for my child support savings account - cause you all know how much I just appreciate Chase Bank!! Well, maybe I'll do that tomorrow.... time to take a handful of advil and go veg for a while.... after I get the tv guide thread done.......
