Since my left foot was damaged, I can no longer walk barefoot anywhere. AND I definitely miss it!

We were not taught to not wear shoes in the house. But we don't because our carpet is white, and we just don't need the extra dirt.
If someone comes to my house and asks if we prefer they remove their shoes, we tell them we want them to be comfortable so they get to choose.
No hard fast rule but we both usually remove our shoes soon as we get in the house...just more comfortable that way and keeps the house cleaner too. I love to go barefoot!

I like that rule .I would never be able to get hubby to take his shoes off.It does keep the house cleaner.We have hardwood floors...hard on constant bare feet.
dirty shoes( like from yard work or DH just home from work) come off but just from the vehicle to the house, usually not. That applies to the main floor but up a level we never have shoes on, only barefeet or slippers. That level is the bedrooms, a bath, the office and so on,
