Didn't like having to do it but we decided it could not wait the few days to see if she would do what she said she would. A case has been filed and they'll investigate it. I think the website says they have to do it within 24 hours. I also called the animal control people. Inside the city limits you are allowed 4 cats and 4 dogs. They will be sending someone out also.
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

I agree with Sue.
Yeah now only if they will DO something about it. He's got her convinced dh and the sister she chased off are in a PLOT to take over and he's the only one she can trust. Or at least that's what he says.
And it makes us wonder if even half of what she has told us about the sister and two other brothers is even remotely the truth...considering the sacrifices we made moving 600 miles across Texas to help her out, and then dh taking 6 months off of work to take care of her when she broke one hip and then the other...ME cooking dinner at her house EVERY NIGHT for those 6 months....and she won't let anyone help her because she is scared. We made the call. Either they will do their job thoroughly and well and this will end or the brother will have her so scared she won't admit to anything and nothing will get done.
I remember the look of utter satisfaction she had on her face one day when dh was arguing with one of the siblings about her...so satisfied to have someone arguing over her/about her/because of her....we are about to wash our hands of the whole situation. She wants to let go of the only two people that for sure don't want a thing from her to cling on to the worthless POS that is just waiting for her to die...who am I kidding he stopped waiting long ago he lives there like she's already dead....expletive deleted this is so hard!
It is such a tough situation. Hope whoever is sent out is caring & competent...sometimes, in our area, the case workers are so overloaded, they don't pick up on things that they should. Others do an outstanding job. Good luck.

What you're going through isn't uncommon. I know it's no comfort, but I hope you understand that some things can't be overcome and just have to run their course despite our best efforts.
