Our lesson today is by Pastor Jeff Schreve of "From His Heart Ministries":
Failure is Not Final
For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again. Proverbs 24:16
A few years ago, we bought a Garmin GPS unit for my daughter, Amy. Like her dad, she was not blessed with a good sense of direction. We knew Garmin could help her with that challenge.
One day, Amy, Debbie and I were traveling together with Garmin leading the way. Unfortunately, I missed a turn ... and Garmin let me know. She could have said, "You missed the exit, moron. You are going to have to turn around." But, Garmin is very polite and encouraging. When you miss an exit, she doesn't berate you, she just says this important word, "Recalculating." That means, you messed up, but let me find a new route to get you where you need to go.
GOD IS LIKE GARMINWhen it comes to our lives, God is a lot like Garmin. He guides us through His Word and prayer. And if we get off course, He lets us know it. Thankfully, He doesn't beat us up and throw us out. He gently, lovingly says, "Recalculating." He wants us to walk with Him and go in the right direction of His will and His ways.
How awesome to know that failure (missing "a turn" in life because of selfishness and sin) is not final. No matter how badly you may have messed up your life, you can get back on track with God. He graciously recalculates His route for you so that you can go on with Him.
WHERE ARE YOU TODAY?Have you missed your turn with the Lord? Are you hearing Him say, "Recalculating," but you are tuning Him out? Remember this: "In His presence is fullness of joy" (Psalm 16:11). When you go in the right direction with God, you experience His presence, peace and joy. "Only the rebellious dwell in a parched land" (Psalm 68:6).
The time is now to get back on track with the Lord Jesus Christ. He hasn't given up on you. Just like Garmin, no matter how many wrong turns we make, He keeps recalculating so that we can walk with Him, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Will you heed His voice today and let Him guide you? He is good and only wants the best for you. The rebellious dwell in a parched land ... but the obedient dwell in the Promised Land. The time is now to be obedient and enter in to the joy of your Master.
Love,
Pastor Jeff Schreve

Loved the lesson!
Been AWOL all day. I had a dermatologist appt. and then Bible study. The study is at a somewhat inconvenient time for me, but it works for everyone else. And it's an awesome study so it's worth it.
I have an unspoken, thank you!
Have a good night. Praying for all.
We made it back! Took the hot water heater to DD's and then met up with her and had a late dinner before coming home. And guess who fell asleep after getting home.
Deb, sounds like you had a busy day, too! What Bible study are you doing? Praying for your unspoken!
Praying for All!
God Bless! Nite!
Lurking & praying.
I thank God for all of you, you bless me.
(Keep the faith!)
Please pray for my Family. That they will be found faithful.
(Thank you.)
Fay, what a cute lesson & one I can really relate with cause my sense of direction is bad. I'm thankful that the Lord keeps "recalculating". Guess who didn't get their shower door today---Correct---us! The guy called all apologetical because there was a part that wasn't in the box, it is supposed to come tomorrow so I hope by 2PM we will have the door & installed.
Deb, I hope you get a chance to rest tomorrow (today).
Cookjoy, we love you too & I am praying for you & your family, God bless you all.
So, will the shower door come tomorrow (Thurs.) or will it be delayed another day, would you all like to take a guess????
Hugs & prayers,
Patty
Good Morning Everyone.
Cough...cough...sneeze....sniff....sniff.... I woke up around 2AM with a sore throat, stuffed up nose and coughing. Uggggg.......
Chris gets his stent removed today. He is glad to get it out, but dreading the removal process all at the same time.
I'll breathe a prayer for each of you as you come to mind today.
Hugs & Love to All,
Lu
Good morning! It's bathrooms, then baking for me today. I am sending back to school packages to my grandkids and including snickerdoodles in them. They love my snickerdoodles.
Lu, praying you feel better. And praying for Chris. Blech. Not a fun day for him.
Holding you each close in prayer. There is so much going on in each of our lives. Overwhelming.
I am doing Beth Moore's study on the book of James. It's called Mercy Triumphs. It's amazing. Today's homework was based on these verses:
Jas 1:2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, Jas 1:3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. Jas 1:4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
She had us do an exercise. Think of a trial you are going through right now. Think of 3 responses you could have to that trial, with "counting it all joy" being one of the responses. Next, write what the consequences of each response would be. (Hint: our verses tell us the consequences of counting it all joy...). Anyway, it was helpful to me. My other responses to my trial were fretting and anger. The consequences to them were (for fretting) taking a toll on my peace and my health and (for anger) becoming bitter. I want to count my trials joy so I can become steadfast in my faith, perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Lu, praying for you & praying for Chris to feel much better when that stent is out.
Deb, I like the book of James, sounds like a good study.
No shower door yet, we will see, does it go on for another day???? Oh my!
Have a happy day in the Lord!
Yikes!!! Our insurance would not pay for Chris to be put out to have his stent removed. It would have been very expensive for us to pay, and we don’t have that kind of money. So the Dr removed it while he was awake. They left me in the room with him. It was very painful for him. You could see the pain in his eyes and on his face. He squeezed my hand so tightly, that I think he cracked my fingers. I felt so bad for him and so did the Dr. He kept apologizing. He is home now, resting. But, he is very sore and still feeling uncomfortable. The Dr. told us that many people are getting them removed while being awake, because of the insurance not paying. Isn't is sad.... You pay the high premiums, but they don't want to pay when you need something done.
Thank you all for the prayers! We both appreciate them so much.
Hello All!
I sat down here by the computer where I could watch for DS#2's intervention specialist to show up and I haven't done much else except play on the computer since then. BTW, he (the intervention specialist) accidentally wrote our meeting on the wrong day on his calendar, so he'll come by tomorrow instead. Which means all the things I should have done this afternoon will have to be done tomorrow morning. I do this to myself all the time . . .
I (and DH and my kids) had a great day yesterday with a high school classmate of mine and her two daughters (ages 19 and 13). We spent all day at the zoo and then came home and ordered pizza They spent the night here then headed out for some shopping this morning before they went home.
Praying for healing, healing, healing . . . for peace of mind and joy-filled hearts . . . for all our needs to be met and for us to look to God for answers when we feel like life is spinning out of control. Also thanking God for providing a way back to Him no matter how far we stray from the path.
Hugs and prayers
Lynnette
Friends, I still need to cook supper/dinner and there are storms on the way SO I'm going to get the lesson up first and then go make dinner. I'll have it up in just a bit.
