I like taking those big shrimp with a simple cocktail sauce of catsup, horseradish and a squirt of lemon. All you have to do is open the bag, defrost, sqeeze the water out put in a bowl and haul it off. Everyone loves it, it's simple and takes zip time.

If you're looking for something a little more fancy go to recipes and look up Dill Shrimp and a pepper jelly cheesecake that's to die for! (The cheese cake is only 6" in diameter. A lovey appetizer.

Did they tell you to bring an appetizer? Or do you want to take a hostess gift?
I would take a snowman cheese ball and crackers if I had to take an appetizer and maybe a nice bottle of Zin or Chablis wine would be nice.

If they invited you for appetizers, you're right - you don't bring one. I always like to bring a nice bottle of wine (and you know they drink because they invited you for drinks). I would never take wine if I didn't know if people drank it, then chocolates would be great.

Even a pretty plant, not a Poinsetta tho as most people already have these.
Ex: A blooming Christmas Catus, or a Amarillo Lilly.
A tin of fancy nuts also is nice.

A bottle of wine is usually good. This time of year home made cookies work too.

Pinwheels!! There are many variations on ingredients but I like them all.

They can be a pain in the butt to make but worth the effort.

Ooops, Leesa, I assumed you were asking what appetizer to take. I would take a bouquet of flowers. I never take plants to people cuze if they are like me (thumb of death to plants) I wouldn't enjoy it but I love fresh flowers.
