We are in Zone 1 this week, that is the Front Porch, the Entrance
    area and the Dining Room.

Today you are to sweep your front porch area around your front door.
Shake out your welcome mats and wipe down your front door. This
makes a huge difference in how your home looks. We have a tendency
to neglect this area and yet it is the first thing that people see
when they come to your home.

Spend 15 minutes taking care of this, you will be pleased with the
    results!

Also, this month the monthly habit is swish and swipe...I rather have taken that on as a habit, and I am happy for it.

The front and back entry way will have to wait. It's to balmy hot to be even outside. I do want them both to look nice and neat. But not in this heat. I had done them the other week with a fresh coat of paint. I know a good hose down would do wonders again. But it would have to be early in the morning or late at night with this heat wave.

This week the goal is the basement to get cleaned up. The laundry room possbile things moved  and everything wiped down. If not then it can be another week to get tackled.

Another load of junk will be going to the landfill recylcing place. I have another load for a charity or good will. Haven't decided which is getting some of the items. After these loads are gone, then the vehicle will need majorily cleaned from head to toe with a major cleaning.

I hope to find some down time too. I have a couple more things I want to clean out. But the one has to wait for the weather to cool down. It's the attic and there is no a/c up there. I would hate to see what temperatures are up there when it's near a 100 outside.

All work and no relaxation gets tiring in the end. It is nice when things are cleaned out, cleared out, and in order. But you have to find the time to sit down and enjoy what life is going around you too.

Enjoy, I hope you live in Iowa, and if that is so, I would like to have you spend a couple days with me...you do get things done!  happy to have you checking in on us!

Alphy...flew over Iowa once. But no where close to Iowa. I am getting things done, because I am on a mission. I have had some heartache over somethings, and want my house in order more then it has been in order. I do a clean out every year if possible. But it has slacked the last 4 years. Now I am on a mission to get things in order. I just had help organizing junk for the land fill recycling.

I noticed the back porch will need scrubbed. It was tracked yesterday when the air was more cooler out, and I had help cleaning up the one area in the yard. I see where my track marks are from coming in the back door to clean myself up after being warn out. I will mop several floors in the house and use the dirty water to help clean  some dirt off the back porch. By giving the scrub water one big toss. Good way to recycle water. Even if it's dirty. Saves on using clean water. I have to pay for the water. So you save. Also you won't be eating off the floors on the back porch. They can get tracked daily.

    Good Morning gals,

Welcome Enjoynature!  Sounds like you are on a cleaning tear!  We don't do that here LOL!  Seriously, I know the feeling - sometimes cleaning house and decluttering are so therapeutic.  So you go, girl!  Just be careful not to burn yourself out.  Use your timer, take breaks, and drink plenty of water.  Am curious about where you live.  Most of the country is hot right now.  I live in Illinois on the Mississippi River.

My porch needs sweeping too.  We have a Rose of Sharon bush out there that drops its pretty pink blossoms all over the place.  I think I'll put it on DD's list.

Speaking of DD, she has gotten some temporary work so she officially is not laying around all summer.  She is going to Philadelphia later this month for a long weekend over her 21st birthday.  Then is going to Vancouver in August the week before she will be going back to school.  That will come soon I suspect.  Just when I get used to her being home she will leave again.

Better get on the move.  Time to go to  work.  Everyone have a good day.

cookie, I thought you lived in Iowa...I know you are close.  Sorry the cookies didn't turn out...they are a rather chewy cookie, and would be one of my faves.  Yesterday I made a strange cookie...I had ricotta left from another recipe for a casserole I had made...and looked online and found this ricotta cookie recipe.  I was rather aprehensive about them, but DH thought they were super.  they are frosted...and I made up a recipe from cream cheese, butter, vanilla and p. sugar.  I may even buy ricotta again just for those!  I didn't like the casserole I made with it.

Enjoynature...I think you have a story, 'bout made me cry to read your last post.  we are so very happy to have you check in on us, and I think you could be an impetus for us to get at it...but, as Cookie says, don't burn yourself out.

Linda, you had a busy weekend.

Tonight we are invited to our daughter's for dinner...her son who is in the army and his wife and two little ones are here from Georgia.  We are so very proud of him...he was rather a rascal as a teenager, and he has done so well...just finished and passed his Ranger training...a nine week regiment.

hot here again.  I need to get at it and do something, be it right or wrong.

    Hi everyone,

Welcome enjoy, I enjoy nature also. Went to the farm to mow the lawn, but it was going to be in the 90's by afternoon so didn't get to enjoy being out there too much. Noticed the sky is much bluer out there, maybe I can see alot more of it, LOL Even saw a few small critters scamper around.

Will do front porch on Wed. morning. As enjoy said it's too darn hot right now and tom. dh will go for cateract surgery so will be busy, busy the next couple days.

Finally found the wreaths I hang on the doors for the 4th. Been kind of half ways looking for it and it finally hit me where I put them. Gotta get better organised in that area.

Dh is home today, relaxing and reading all the instructions on what to do before tom. morning. he's already putting in the eye drops that was recommended before surgery. Wed. morning we have to go all the way south of the cities just to get his eyes checked. I guess it's the only eye dr. open on the 4th. yippee, have to drive over 20 miles just to see a dr. and put up w dh crtiqueing my driving, lots of fun, Indifferent

I've pu the hse. and swept the floors already today. than I showered and washed hair so am all ready for tom. morning. Going to bring along a book to read, the nurse that called said it should take 2,3 hrs.

Everyone have a nice day, Big Smile.

cookie, I am trying to sort and toss some cookie recipes in my box...came across this recipe...I think it is super...got it from a neighbor in AZ, she is now deceased.  I call them:

    Sylvia's cookies

    1 c butter (she used 1/2 crisco)

    1 1/2 c sugar

    1 T Karo syrup

    1 egg

    1 tsp soda

    1 3/4 c flour

2 t each cinnamon and ginger

    1 tsp cloves

Mix and let stand overnight.  Then shape into tiny balls...about marble size.  press flat with a glass dipped in flour/sugar mix.

    350  for 9 minutes.

We are going to have a multi room mission today, it might take you
longer than 15 minutes to do it, so set your timer for each room and
    FLY through it!

For the Front Porch, Entrance and Dining Room, put out the fires that
are burning in your hot spots. Get rid of the pile of shoes by the
front door, get rid of the pile of junk mail and put away the
magazines and school papers that are piled on the dining room table.

They are smoldering so get to it!

And remember swish and swipe habit for the month!

Just back from our daughter's...those two little greats are the sweetest things...of course!

    Thank you for the welcome.

Everyone has a story of what is happening in their life pathways. Or what paths one has already accomplished with trial and error, heartache, joy, and love that went along the way. Some have valleys of problems, other have tall mountains of things to achieve. One just has to strive on to keep on going with whatever comes ones way. Even with the bumps that make us fall along the way.One can wallow for a time. But one needs to pull themselves up with whatever has happened, dust themselves off, and keep on going on long the pathways of life. No one said there would always be the sweet smelling soft delicate petals of roses every day. Remember the roses have thorns, and the pain may come, but one can alway admire and enjoy what the softness of rose brings along the way .

As for where I live...I will not exactly post where. Sorry! One just doesn't realize in this cyber world how even in this message board on how you can be tracked down or identity stolen. I will say this. I am in the country, in a very rural area... wishing to be more in the mountains or on a farm. But I can sit outside and be safe and enjoynature. To where I know some people can't even sit outside. Gardening I enjoy to do. I have many vegetables and flowers gardens. Even a sitting garden to sit outside in and watch things of nature come in to the flowers around and take a smell of the flowers and stir the pollen and to go then on it's merry way.  Long walks, and hikes don't seem to get accomplished very often like they once used to get more accomplished long ago. But I do take the time and look around at the Masters Hand of what God above has created for us all to an enjoynature.

Laundry, Laundry,Laundry!!! It's a never ending trail that needs accomplished. I have most of it caught up.It's just a matter of putting it all away. That is the goal for this morning. Putting it away. And while putting it away toss out some clothes that are not being worn any more in my closet. Today is a semi down time day on getting some big things accomplished. Not enought time. I will skip the basement, and the laundryroom they will wait another week. With the 4th being tomorrow it's throwing a kinker of a knot into the week of more not getting some big things accomplished. They have waited this long they can wait another week. But they are going to get accomplished before canning season begins with a bigger bang then it has already started with just fresh fruits of the season already in the freezers. Once canning season begins it puts a real screech on getting many big things accomplished, for it's a marathon to get many things canned and frozen from the gardens.

Don't put off tomorrow what one may accomplish today. The more you procrastinate on getting something done, the longer it will take to be accomplished. Little things mound into big things. So doing things while you can whether big or small, gives you much strides of things being accomplished. It's better to take and do it all while you can, then to wait for another day. The another day makes it only mound up more and in the end you find yourself being more a procrastinator then a doer of getting things accomplished because the little things has now grown into a mountain of things. To where if you took the time when they were small then you would have found yourself accomplishing more in the end.

I need to get off and tackle somethings..It may be early for some. But it has only become later for me and not much was  accomplished around here. I am early person to get things done. Especially in this heat wave  Enjoy your Day Ladies, and Gents!

    Hi,

Got back from the eye surgery about 10 and have been taking it easy, because it's so darn hot. Had some rain last night and when it woke me I thought it'd get cooler, but to my surprise. Hot, hot.

Cleaned the bathroom yesterday, was getting icky, lol. Finished up the laundry, only do dh's and mine about 4,5 loads and am done. Got sick of doing the kids and showed them how and they do their's themselves since they were in elementary school. mean Mom!!!!!

Ate a sandwhich for lunch, all I seemed to want. Keep the cold water coming and I'm ok.

Have to take dh to the dr. tom. and see how his eye is doing. He wants to go back to work Thurs. Asked if he could, but no heavy lifting. We'll see what the job says about that.

Again welcome enjoy, take care everyone, Big Smile

    Hello -

Dang, I just did that thing that makes me lose my post!  Now what was I babbling about..........

Alphy dear, I didn't mean to give you the impression that the cookie didn't work out.  Not a one will go to waste.  My DH actually kind of likes burned cookies so he will take care of the rejects!  I think they are quite tasty.  They just weren't my best performance, I made some mistakes that were totally my fault.  I will make them again and they will turn out better.  Thanks for posting the Sylvia's cookie recipe.  I will print that off and will try them in the future.

I have a cookout at my sister's tomorrow.  Her oldest son and wife and their 6 month old baby girl will be there visiting from NYC.  I am excited to see them.

Glad to hear your DH's surgery went OK, Linda.  I was only off work the day of the surgery, but I work in an office.  So it really probably depends a lot on what someone does for a living.  What I remember most was that I had to wear a shield over my eye at night for a couple weeks, and then there were all kinds of eye drops I had to do.  Then since I had the second surgery three weeks later I had all these eye drops to keep track of and each eye was on a different schedule.  I remember thinking that it was so good that I wasn't old and forgetful when I had my surgeries!

    Everyone have a lovely Fourth!

Today take a look at the walls and the windows in your dining room.
Grab some cleaner and a cloth and go after the finger prints and
smudges that those mysterious little elves seem to leave behind as
they run through your house when no one is looking! LOL

Be careful with the walls as not to rub too hard to remove paint if
    you have a flat finish.

But who is going to be doing anything tomorrow..on the 4th?  Poor farmers, they are going to suffer if we don't soon get a good rain.
