red_savage1 Had my DH not put his back out, hewould have been a passenger on one of the floats.
I'll bet this is the one and only time he's thankful for a back ache!
It was very cold here this morning, down near 20º for sure. Coffee is just not cutting it today, I see a nap in my future.
Hi all. I haven't been feeling too great for the past couple days, my fibromyalgia has made a nasty appearance and all I want to do is sleep.
I don't have anything to do today, I need to wash some towels, but that's about it.
Red, are you in Midland? That's such an awful tragedy! I can't believe no one saw or heard that train coming, especially since the lights seem to have been working, from the pics that I've seen.
I've got to go see my friend sometime today but she said something about her doc maybe letting her go home today, so I'll have to call her before I go.
Morning
I only have time for a quick cup this morning.... since I wasn't able to get to sleep last night and of course I didn't want to get up this morning when my alarm clock went off.... and it is aquasize day for Sitty!! I'll be back later!!
Yesterday we made up over a gallon of applesauce (my aunt stopped in Monday with a huge bag of assorted apples frfom their farm) and today we will freeze it in zip locks.
DW has a batch (3 loaves) of Applesauce Bread in the oven (yes, I helped-I greased the pans!). We were fortunate to find the recipe from the now closed Plainville Turkey Farms Restaurant in Syracuse. It was very popular on their buffet and in their bakery....and its smelling pretty darn good.
DW has to work later and I'm going to make a birthday cake for our Bonus Niece and continue working on Christmas cards.
Last night I finished the book that our son sent me on the History of Mob Activity in Boston-my hair is still standing on end. Wow, those guys could be ruthless!

And the bummer news is, I don't have a brand new, favorite, baby cousin - yet!! My cousin had better hurry up!! Cause I feel the need to spoil some one!! The latest update is that we are dialated (sp) to7!!! Now the fun begins!!! he he ho ho breathe!!
Oh well, at least I have time for some breakfast - I'm starving!! Nothing like an hour in the swimming pool to make me hungrier than hungry!!
Hi, all. I'm on late today as we just got home. DH and I volunteered at National Adoption Day here locally. Fifty-eight families adopted children. I volunteered at the food tables. DH is a child advocate (CASA) so he was an escort for a family who was adopting. What a wonderful, happy day. The children were precious.
We got home and our next door neighbor is having a garage sale so our street has cars parked everywhere. It will be like this all day - LOL. A good day to stay in.
Applesauce bread sounds so good and I know your DW was happy to have you help grease the pans. I'll bet your house smells so good, foodguy.
It was 37 again this morning but is going up into the 60s this afternoon.
Have a great day, everyone.

Happy Friday! This week really zipped by. Still haven't wrapped my brain around the fact that Thanksgiving is next week -- guess I need to double check my supplies and hit the grocery store. Applesauce bread does sound yummy - almost nothing better than the smell of bread baking on a cold day. Sue - didn't have time to post yesterday, but glad your DD is back. Sitty- how exciting to have a new baby in the family! Most of myy family and friends are at the stage where most are too old (my generation) or too young (our kids) for babies, so it will be a few years before there will be anyone to spoil. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the day!
My brand new baby cousin is finally here!! He came into this world at exactly 11:00 am (pacific time) and weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long!! I finally got my cousin to tell me what she still needs - so I went shopping!! I told my other cousin (her sister) "not to worry, I'll get some balloons" while I am out and about.... the first place I went - no longer sells balloons - - so I went to a flower shop - and according to the lady I talked to - there is a helium shortage!!! WTH!! You've got to be kidding me!! So as I was leaving, I turned around to talk to the clerk, and I eye spied this fairly small "Its a Boy" balloon with gum cigars - so I got it!! It wasn't the balloon bouquet that I wanted to get... but what else could I do!! Anyways, it is time for Cousin Sitty to take a quick power nap - cause all this excitement today - has tired me out!!

Yes, I live in Midland. The pictures do not really show just how that particular intersection with lights, rail road bars that drop, etc. is laid out. If you could actually SEE it, then it would make more sense how this tragic event took place. There was a semi with trailer full of Vets in front of the one hit. The light was red. Railroad crossing lights started flashing, bells ringing, the gaurd arms dropping and the truck had no where to move. It's a very bad intersection that barely has room for two regular sized cars.
