  • Any recipes for leftover bagels?
I work for someone on the weekends and she gave me a huge bag of bagels. What can I do with them?
I was thinking of making bagel chips- anyone know how to make them or have any other suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Bagel Chips

    3 bagels
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. garlic salt

Preheat oven to 250. Slice bagels into very thin 1/4" slices. With a pastry brush, lightly coat both sides of the slices with vegetable oil. On a baking sheet, arrange slices; sprinkle with garlic salt. Bake for 20 min., turn once, and bake until both sides are crisp,
about 10 min. more. Makes 16 oz.

You can also make pizza bagels... just use sauce and cheese. I'm looking around for more ideas. They freeze well also if you have freezer room.

To make bagel chips, slice leftover bagels horizontally into thin slices. Brush with butter or margarine on one side. Lay (butter side up) on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 325 for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and crisp

You could make "pizza bagels". Spread on a tbs. pizza sauce, sprinkle with oregano and top with mozzarella cheese. Heat until cheese is bubbly. Enjoy!

I like to use them for sandwiches. Just put ham salad, egg salad, chicken salad or ham & cheese... in the middle. Yummy.

The sweet ones can be used in bread pudding.

1 lb. sausage (I used Jimmy Dean mild)
    1 jar Old English Cheese
    1 pack (8) English muffins-original
    Brown sausage- drain off grease.
Add Cheese-mix well. Slice muffins in half (horizontally-you'll still have 2 rounds) Put sausage and cheese mixture on top of each muffin half.
May put in freezer and thaw out night before baking in fridge.
Bake at 350 degrees until edge is slightly brown.
For appetizers, cut each into 4 triangles. Then bake.
I thought these were very good(almost like sausage balls) and easy to make.

You can use cheese spread , and spicey sausage if you'd like.
