I have a 6.6 pound 4-bone standing rib to prepare and I wondered if everyone would post how they prepare theirs to give me some ideas. I have watched a couple Food TV programs and saw their versions. Based on medium well, would that be about 23 mins per pound? Thanks for all suggestions.

A standing rib and a prime rib are basically the same roast. Prime rib is just a higher in the rib area cut. This was posted some time back on the BB, don't know who posted it, and it can be exchanged for what you want.

    Prime Rib

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Salt (and garlic salt if desired) roast. Place in a pan and roast for 1 hour. Shut off oven and leave roast inside. Do not open the oven door as the roast will continue cooking as the oven cools. Turn the oven back on to 375 degrees 45 minutes before it is time to eat to finish. DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DOOR FOR ANY REASON.
