I know there is going to be fruit, cheese platter, meatballs, potato salad, chips, and pop. I need something inexpensive and yummy! Any ideas?

    Ziti

    1 box of pasta
    1 jar of sauce
    small cont. Ricotta cheese
    16 0z Shredded cheese

It makes a big pan. I am making 2 pans of this for DH work. Double recipe. This should cost you less then $10 to make

    Ice Cream Sandwich Cake:
    Made like lasagna
Put a layer of ice cream sandwiches in the bottom of a cake pan (any size, depending on how many you are serving) Top with hot fudge sauce at room temp. Put another layer of sandwiches, hot fudge, and top with cool whip and any variety of topping, nuts, broken butterfinger bar, shaved chocolate, or leave it plain. So easy, and everybody loves it!

    One more idea... coming up..

The green chili dip I make is very inexpensive...

    1 big container sour cream
    1 8 oz cream cheese
1 can green chilies not drained.

Mix it all up -- serve with Ritz.

Can't be but $5-6 to put together...

Came up with some other ideas... (inexpensive)....

Buy a couple of quick bread mixes -- make them -- and make little sandwiches with cream cheese with the bread slices...

Like a banana bread sandwich with just cream cheese filling. Nut bread or banana bread is awesome this way -- I'd venture to say any date or spice bread -- even pumpkin would be fine.

My bruschetta is cheap -- well -- if you can get tomatoes cheap.

Do you have a hankering to take something -- I've got more ideas...

These always go over big for a finger-type food:

    Cucumber Sandwiches

    1 loaf cocktail bread
    Dill seasoning

    Mix:
1- 8oz. pkg cream cheese, softened
    2 Tbls Hellman's Mayonnaise
1 pkg Good Seasons dry Italian salad dressing
    mix

Slice 1 cucumber in 1/4 inch slices

Spread each slice of bread with cheese mixture then top with a slice of cucumber. Sprinkle with dill seasoning and paprika. (makes it look festive with the green and reddish colors.) Chill

tortilla roll ups are easy, cheap and yummy. Spread with cream cheese and salsa (or refried beans, or shredded cheddar and tomatos), roll up and slice. They slice better if they are refridgerated after rolling.

you can make some sort of banana bread or pumpkin bread or any other kind of fruit-ish bread without it getting expensive, and you probably already have most the dry ingredients sitting in your cupboards already.
