My son wants me to make him a volcano cake for his birthday. The recipe calls for 1 dome cake baked in a 4-liter Pyrex bowl and 1 dome cake baked in a 2-liter Pyrex bowl.
Does anyone have any ideas how I would do this?

you just prepare the bowls the same way you wouls a glass cake pan. You might need a longerbaking time because of the depth of the middle. Just be sure to start checking it w/ a cake tester at the time the mix pkg says it should be done.

I would lower the oven temp 25º too.

I have used Pyrex bowls to make baseball cakes for boys and lady bug cakes for girls.

I agree with imadisneymom. I grease & flour the bowl just like I was baking in a pan. Since you are baking in glass, lower the temperature 25 degrees. Use the cake tester until done.

Let us know how it turns out.

I have made a "bratz" doll cake with a pyrex bowl. To get it taller I just baked a round pan and set it on the bottom. Once you frost it, you can't tell.
