I have a recipe for Three Alarm Chili, that uses beef cubes...it is delicious. But I always cook the beef cubes first in the crock pot, so the meat gets real tender. I prefer the crockpot when making beef cubes, to cooking them or simmering them on the stove....they get more tender in the crock pot.

    Mushroom Beef

    1 LB Stew Beef Cubes
    1 Can Cream Mushroom soup
1 Pkg Onion Soup Mix (Dry)
1 Jar Sliced Mushrooms (I used fresh
    about 1 1/2C)
    Hot Cooked Egg Noodles

Put Cubes into bottom of Slow Cooker. Add in Cream Soup, Onion Soup, and Mushrooms. Stir to blend. Cook on Low for 8-10 hrs. Serve over cooked noodles. Yummy!

    This is really good.

    Hungarian Goulash

2 # round steak, cubed (or chuck or cross rib)
    1 can (10 3/4 oz) tomato soup
    3/4 c water
    3 T flour
    2 t paprika
    1/2 t onion powder
    1/2 t garlic powder
    1/2 t salt
    1/2 t pepper
    1 c sour cream

    Spray crockpot with Pam-type oil.
Thoroughly mix the soup and the water in the crockpot.
Mix all the dry ingredients together well.
Coat the meat in that mixture.
Gently stir, to cover, the coated meat into the soup/water mix.
Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours, or on high for 4 to 5 hours.
Stir in the sour cream about 30 minutes before serving.

Serve over hot noodles or mashed potatoes.
    About 6 servings.
(Peas or French-cut green beans go well with this.)

This is one of our family's favorites.

    Dottie

    Beef ‘n Beer
(Entrée for oven or crock pot)

    2 pounds stew beef cubes
    2 onions - sliced
    2 beef bouillon cubes
    1 cup water
    1 can beer
    2 Tablespoons. brown sugar
    1 bay leaf
    touch of thyme & parsley
    salt & pepper
    1 1/2 Tablespoons cornstarch
    2 Tablespoons red wine vinegar

    OVEN Directions:
Preheat oven to 325°F. Cooking time is 2 1/2 hours. In a small amount of oil brown onions, remove from pan. Add beef & brown. Add bouillon cubes and water. Stir. Add rest of ingredients. Pour in beer. Mix together the cornstarch and red wine; add to beef mixture. Pour into a 4 or 5 quart Corning (or oven proof) casserole dish. Cover and bake approximately 2 1/2 hours until tender. Serve over cooked wide-size noodles. (I double this recipe to make sure we have plenty of leftovers).

    CROCK POT Directions:
Basically prepare as above and put in crock pot (or slow cooker). Cook on low approximately 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender.

Serve with hot rolls and a tossed salad for a “beyond delicious” meal.

I got this recipe off this board and it is out of this world

    3 lbs beef stew meat
1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 can red wine

Mix together and put in casserole dish. Bake at 350 for 21/2-3 hours. Can add some pearl onions and mushrooms half hour before done cooking. Serve over rice or noodles.

This smells so good when it is cooking!
Now I'm hungry for it. Gonna make it this weekend!
