  • HELP--CAN I BAKE A CAKE IN A FOIL PAN?
Hi.. I have offered to cook up some meals tomorrow for someone for a week ahead and I want to include a couple of cakes (upside down cake and dump cake).. I am putting the casseroles into those foil disposable pans (so they can throw them away after) but I was wondering if anyone knows if I can bake the cakes directly in the pans or have to bake them first and then put into pans after?

I just know someone here will have an answer... thank you in advance..

You most certianly can. I do this quite often for family gatherings. That way if I decide to leave early I don't have to worry about my pans.

I just did it tonight for a bday at work tomorrow....the ooey gooey pumpkin cake. Its never been a problem for me. Just keep them flat, with a piece of cardboard or something...or the cake may crack. Other than that....just fine.

I've used those pans many times also. Just don't make a jello salad and put in one! LOL You can't hardly hold it, the pan wiggles so badly!
