OT: How many cups in a 12 oz. package of chocolate chips....?

    OT: How many cups in a 12 oz. package of chocolate chips....?
    I was able to purchase bulk choc. chips at a very reasonable price for the holidays coming up. Since I don't have a very accurate kitchen scale, I'm wondering how I will measure them for recipes calling for 1 package. Thanks for any help.

    1 cup = 6 ozs
    2 cups = 12 ozs

    I would guess so, I tend to eat my chocolate chips up before I get around to baking with them.

    i always use less chips when using the mini size since there are so many more to spread through the cookie or whatever you make.
    i love chocolate, but it's almost too much to use 12 oz of the mini.

    Be sure to check the recipe carefully. I see that this year a package of chocolate chips, in many cases seems to be only 11 ounces.
