Hershey Bar Layer Cake

  • Hershey Bar Layer Cake
    Does anyone have a recipe for a Hershey Bar cake that is a layer cake? I've seen one on here that is a pound cake, but a friend of mine is looking for a recipe for one that's a layer cake.

    Hershey's Old-Fashioned Chocolate Cake ingredients:

    3/4 cup butter Or margarine

    1 2/3 cup Sugar

    3 each Eggs

    1 tsp. vanilla extract

    2 cup flour, all-purpose

    2/3 cup Cocoa

    1 1/4 tsp. Baking soda

    1/4 tsp. baking powder

    1 tsp. Salt

    1 1/3 cup water

    ---Hershey's chocolate Frosting---

    2 cup chocolate chips, semi-sweet, (12 oz)

    2 cup sugar, powdered

    2/3 cup milk, evaporated

    Hershey's Old-Fashioned Chocolate Cake preparation:

    1. FOR CAKE: Heat oven to 350 degrees.

    2. Grease and flour two 9 inch round baking pans or one 13x9x2 inch baking pan. In large mixer bowl, combine butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.

    3. Beat on high speed 3 minutes.

    4. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add alternately with water to butter mixture.

    5. Blend just til combined.

    6. Pour into prepared pans.

    7. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or til wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

    8. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans.

    9. Cool completely; frost.

    10. Serves 8 to 10. FROSTING: In small microwave-safe bowl, place chocolate chips.

    11. Microwave on high 1 1/2 minutes; stir.

    12. Microwave on high additional 30 seconds or til melted and smooth when stirred.

    13. (Chips may also be melted in pan over warm water).

    14. Gradually add powdered sugar and evaporated milk, beating til smooth.

    15. About 2 1/2 cups frosting.

    This is the Chocolate Cake on the Hershey Cocoa Can


    • 2 cups sugar
    • 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa or HERSHEY'S Dutch Processed Cocoa
    • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 1 cup boiling water
    • ONE-BOWL BUTTERCREAM FROSTING (recipe follows)

    1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round pans or one 13x9x2-inch baking pan.

    2. Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed of electric mixer 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour batter into prepared pans.

    3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes for round pans, 35 to 40 minutes for rectangular pan or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely. (Cake may be left in rectangular pan, if desired.) Frost with ONE-BOWL BUTTERCREAM FROSTING. 8 to 10 servings.

    6 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
    2-2/3 cups powdered sugar
    1/2 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa or HERSHEY'S Dutch Processed Cocoa
    1/3 cup milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Beat butter in medium bowl. Add powdered sugar and cocoa alternately with milk, beating to spreading consistency (additional milk may be needed). Stir in vanilla. About 2 cups frosting.

    Milky Way Cake

    8 milky way candy bars (2.15 oz. ea)
    1 cup butter or margarine
    2 cups sugar
    4 large eggs separated
    1 1/4 tsp. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 cup pecans chopped
    6 squares (6 oz) semisweet chocolate

    1. Preheat oven to 325 degree.Grease
    and flour a 10 inch tube pan.
    2. Melt candy bars and butter, in
    large Dutch oven over low heat.
    Remove from heat and stir in
    3. Combine egg yolks,buttermilk and
    baking soda in small bowl until
    blended. Combine flour and salt
    in another bowl, add to candy
    mixture alternately with
    buttermilk mixture, beginning and
    ending with dry ingredients. Stir
    in pecans.
    4. In clean bowl, beat egg whites
    until stiff, fold into batter.
    Pour into prepared pan. Bake 1
    and 1/4 hours or until set.
    Cool on wire rack 15 minutes.
    Unmold and cool completely.
    5. Melt chocolate squares and
    spread over cooled cake.
