  • Can you freeze beef stew?
I made some in the crockpot yesterday and was thinking I might freeze a serving for DH for while I am gone when new grandbaby comes in early March.

Have not ever frozen this dish before.

    THanks..Lynn

should be no problem! Put it in a tupperware freezing dish or something similar.

I love beef stew and I freeze most things. However, in my opinion, the potatoes seem to get a little 'watery' when reheated after freezing, so I no longer freeze the stew leftovers. We just eat it all or give it away.

Thanks...I used a baking potato to make it and they were really firm when we ate it last night...so hope that helps.

Will freeze it now, as it is completely cooled and already in a tupperware container.

    THANK YOU!!!

We don't include potatoes in a beef stew (why let all that starch soak up the flavor???). And we always seem to make a double recipe and then freeze the second meal. Could not be more delicious!!
