Smoked pork shoulder recipes?

  • Smoked pork shoulder recipes?
    My family loves fresh pork shoulder (picnic ham)....but I often see the smoked version in the supermarket. How do you prepare that? and what does it taste like? Thanks again for all the help.

    The smoked hams do have a slight smokey flavor, but to me it is not strong at all.

    Some smoked hams are fully cooked and ready to eat. The cook-before-eating smoked hams have to be cooked to an internal temp of 170, just like a fresh ham. They should be cooked at 325 degrees minimum.

    Instructions for cooking are required and are usually under the label.

    For the ready to eat smoked hams, I still bake them to internal temp of 140 at 325 degrees.
