    CROCKETTE-CHICKEN-in-a-POT

    1 small carrot, sliced
    1/2 stalk celery, sliced
    3 thin onion slices
    2-3 chicken pieces (breasts and/or thighs) 1/2 tsp salt dash pepper
    2 TBSP water
    basil leaves
    Place veggies in bottom of Crockette. Arrange chicken pieces on top. add salt and pepper. Pour water over all. Sprinkle with basil leaves, if desired. Cover and cook 7-10 hours.

    CROCKETTE-RANCHER'S PORK CHOPS

    2 lean pork chops
    1 small onion, sliced
    2 green pepper rings
    4 TBSP catsup
    2 TBSP brown sugar
    Brown chops to remove excess fat. Place onion slices in bottom of Crockette. Place chops on top of onion. Top with green pepper, catsup and brown sugar. Cover and cook 7-9 hours.

    CROCKETTE-PORK POT ROAST

    1-1 1/2 lb pork roast
    Salt & Pepper
    dash garlic powder
    1 small onion, sliced
    1 small bay leaf
    2 TBSP soy sauce
    2 TBSP water
    Trim excess fat from roast. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Place onion in Crockette; add seasoned roast. Add bay leaf, soy sauce and water. Cover and cook 8-10 hours.

    CROCKETTE-POT-ROAST of BEEF

    1 small potato, sliced
    1 carrot, pared and sliced
    1 small onion, sliced
    Salt & Pepper
    1 lb beef roast
    Kitchen Bouquet (optional)
    2 TBSP water
    Place veggies in bottom of Crockette. S&P meat, then place in pot. Brush with Kitchen Bouquet, if desired. Add water. Cover and cook 10-12 hours. VARIATION: Prepare a 1 1/2 lb roast without veggies; season with S&P. Add no liquid. Cook as above.

    CROCKETTE- TACO FILLING

    1 lb ground beed
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 tsp chili powder
    1/2 tsp leaf oregano
    1/2 tsp paprika
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 TBSP taco seasoning mix
    1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
    10-12 taco shells
    Taco sauce
    Shredded lettuce
    Brown beef and drain well; place in Crockette. Add remaining ingredients except taco shells, taco sauce, and lettuce. Cover and cook 8-12 hours. Fill taco shells, top with sauce and lettuce.

    CROCKETT-MEAT LOAF

    1 lb ground beef
    1 egg
    1/3 cup quick cooking oats
    3 TBSP dry onion soup mix
    1/4 cup catsup
    Combine beef, egg, oats, soup mix and 3 TBSP catsup. Shape into a loaf; top with remaining catsup. Place in Crockette. Cover; cook 8-10 hours

    CROCKETTE-SWISS STEAK

    1/2 lb round or Swiss steak ,3/4 inch thick
    Salt & Pepper
    1 small onion, sliced
    1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
    Cut steak in half; season with S&P. Place onion slices in bottom of Crockette. Place steaks on top of onion. Pour tomato sauce over all. Cover and cook 8-10 hours ( I Like to use a small can of diced tomatoes & some chunks of green peppers,instead of the tomato sauce).



    CROCKETTE- CHICKEN FAJITAS

    1 small onion, sliced
    juice of 2 limes
    1/2 tsp oregano
    1/2 tsp chili powder
    1/2 tsp ground cumin
    1/2 tsp coarse pepper
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 lb boneless chicken breast, cut into strips
    1/2 red bell pepper, cut into strips
    1/2 green pepper, cut into strips
    4-6 flour tortillas (8 inch), warm
    1 tomato, chopped
    sour cream
    Place onion in Crockette, Combine lime juice and seasonings in small bowl. Add chicken and toss to coat. Pour chicken and juice mixture over onion. Cover and cook 6-8 hours. Stir in green and red pepper strips 30 minutes before serving.
    To serve: Spoon chicken and onion into center of each tortilla. Top with tomato and sour cream. Fold sides fo torilla toward center.

    CROCKETTE: BACON-CHEESE DIP

    3 jars (5 oz size) sharp process cheese food
    6 slices bacon
    1/4 cup dry minced onion
    2 cups sour cream
    1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    Cook cheese in Crockette 1 hour or until melted. In skillet, fry bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 1 TBSP drippings.Crumble bacon and set aside. Cook onion in reserved drippings. Combine sour cream, bacon, onion and Worcestershire sauce. Stir into melted cheese and continue cooking 1-2 hours. Serve with bread peices, crackers, crisp veggies.

    CROCKETTE: NIPPY FRANKS

    3/4 cup catsup
    1/4 cup barbecue sauce
    1/3 cup bourbon
    dash Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1 pkge (12oz) frankfurters
    Combine all ingredients except franks in Crockette. Slice franks into 1/2 inch pieces and stir into sauce mixture. Cover and cook 1 hour; remover lid and heat an additional 2-3 hours.

    CROCKETTE: HEARTY FONDUE

    1 pkge (8 oz) cream cheese, cubed
    1/2 cup milk
    1 tsp dry mustard
    2 TBSP chopped green onion
    1/2 pkge (2 1/2 oz size) sliced dried beef, diced French bread, cut into bite-size pieces
    Combine cream cheese and 1/4 cup milk in greased Crockette. Cover and cook until cheese is melted, 1-1 1/2 hours. Add remaining milk, mustard, onion and dried beef. Stir thoroughly. Cover and cook 1 hour. Server with bread pieces.

    CROCKETTE- SPAGHETTI SAUCE

    1/2 lb ground beef
    1 tsp dry minced onion
    1/21 tsp salt
    1/8 tsp dry mustard
    1 tsp sugar
    Dash each: basil, oregano, thyme
    1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
    1 can (2oz) mushrooms, drained
    Brown ground beef and drain. Place in Crockette; add remaining ingredients. Cover; cook 10-12 hours. Serve over hot spaghetti. NOTE: 2 TBSP spaghetti sauce seasoning mix can be substituted for spices.

    CROCKETTE-VEGETABLE BEEF SOUP

    1/2 lb stew meat, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
    1 can (14 oz) tomatoes
    1 carrot, sliced
    1 small onion, diced
    1 stalk celery, sliced
    34 cup frozen mixed veggies
    Salt & Pepper
    1 beef bouillon cube
    water
    Put all ingredients in Crockette. Add water to barely cover. Stir thoroughly. Cover and cook 10-16 hours.

    CROCKETTE-OLD-FASHIONED BEAN SOUP

    2/3 cup Great Northern beans, parboiled.
    2 cups water
    1/4 cup chopped ham
    Salt & Pepper
    2 TBSP chopped celery leaves
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1 small bay leaf
    Put all ingredients in Crockette. Cover and cook 10-12 hours.

    CROCKETTE-RICE

    Follow directions on rice package for proportion of rice to water. For best results, use long grain converted rice. (Up to 1 cup raw rice may be prepared in Crockette- makes 3-4 cups cooked rice.) Rub crock wall with 1 tsp butter. Pour in rice, water and salt. Cover and cook 8-10 hours

    CROCKETTE-SPANISH RICE

    1/2 lb groud chuck
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1/3 cup chopped green pepper
    1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
    1/2 cup water

    Salt to taste
    1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 cup raw long grain converted rice
    Brown beef and drain. Place all ingredients in Crockette. Stir thoroughly. Cover and cook 8-12 hours

    CROCKETTE-RICE PILAF

    1 can (10 1/2 oz) beef consomme
    1 can (4 oz) sliced mushrooms, drained
    1/2 cup raw converted rice
    2 TBSP butter
    1/3 cup finely chopped onion
    Put all ingredients in Crockette. Cover and cook 6-8 hours

    CROCKETTE-MACARONI & CHEESE

    2 cups cooked macaroni
    1 TBSP butter, melted
    1 cup evaporated milk
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 cup shredded sharp processd cheese
    1 TBSP minced onion
    Toss macaroni with butter. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into lightly greased Crockette. Cover and cook 2 1/2-4 hours, stirring once or twice.

    CROCKETTE-BAKED BEAN'S

    1 can (16 oz) pork and beans with sauce
    1/3 cup brown sugar
    1 tsp prepared mustard
    1 tsp dry minced onion
    2 slices bacon fried crisp and crumbled
    1/4 cup catsup
    Pour beans into crockette. Add remaining ingredients and stir to blend. Cover and cook 4-8 hours.

    Prick potatoes with a fork and wrap in foil. Place potatoes in Crockette. Do not add water. Cover and cook 8-10 hours.

    3/4 lb stew meat, cut in 1 inch cubes
    1 potato, diced
    1 carrot, sliced
    1 small onion, diced
    1 can (14.5 oz) whole tomatoes
    2 TBSP quick-cooking tapioca
    1 bay leaf
    S&P
    Trim all fat from meat. Put all ingredients in Crockette. Mix thoroughly. Cover and cook 10-12 hours

    CROCKETTE: STUFFED PEPPERS

    2 medium green peppers
    2 TBSP minced onion
    3/4 cup cooked rice
    1/4 tsp salt
    3/4 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese 1 TBSP chopped pimiento 1/3 cup water
    Cut off tops of peppers and remove membrane. Combine remaining ingredients, except water. Tightly pack each pepper with stuffing. Place peppers in Crockette. Pour water in the bottom of the Crockette. Cover and cook 7-10 hours

    CROCKETTE: ORANGE GLAZED CARROTS

    2 TBSP maple flavor syrup
    1 TBSP butter
    1 TBSP frozen orange juice concentrate
    6 carrots, sliced
    Combine all ingredients in Crockette. Cover and cook 6-8 hours

    CROCKETTE: CHOCOLATE DESSERT FONDUE

    1 1/2 tsp butter
    8 chocolate candy bars with almonds (1oz size), broken
    1 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
    3 TBSP milk
    1/2 cup whipping cream
    Rub crock wall with butter. Place candy bars, marshmallows and milk in Crockette. Cover and cook, stirring every 30 minutes, until melted and smooth. Gradually add whipping cream. Cover and keep warm for serving up to 2-6 hours later. Serve with bite-sized peices of pound cake, bananas, marshmallows, fresh strawberries, grapes or mandarin oranges.

    CROCKETTE: FRUIT COMPOTE

    3/4 cup dried apricots
    3/4 cup dried prunes
    1 can (8 oz) peach slices ,undrained
    10 maraschino cherries
    1 can (11 oz) mandarin orange segments, undrained Combine all ingredients in Crockette. Cover and cook 8-10 hours

    CROCKETTE: CARAMEL RUM FONDUE

    1 pkge (14 oz) caramels
    2/3 cup cream
    1/2 cup mini marshmallows
    1 TBSP rum (or 1/2 tsp rum extract)
    Combine caramels and cream in Crockette. Cover and cook until melted, 2-3 hours. Stir in marshmallows and rum. Continue cooking 1/2-1 hour. Serve with apple wedges, pound cake doughnuts, or marshmallows

    3-5 medium cokking apples, peeled, cored and sliced or chunked
    1/4 cup water
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 to 3/4 cup sugar
    Put all ingredients in Crockette. Cover and cook 8-10 hours. Serve warm with or without cream.

    CROCKETTE-BAKED APPLE'S
    3 medium baking apples, washed and cored
    1 TBSP raisins
    2 TBSP sugar
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1 TBSP butter
    Mix raisins and sugar; fill center of apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter. Place in Crockette, add 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook 7-9 hours

    CROCKETTE-CEREAL
    i.e.; Oatmeal, Cracked Wheat, Grits, or Cornmeal Mush

    Rub crock wall with 1 tsp butter. Follow package directions for quantity of water and salt per cup of cereal. Cover and cook for 8-9 hours. Do not use quick-cooking varieties. (Most varieties of cereal's work best using a 2-1 ratio: 2 cups water to 1 cup cereal.)

    A Crockette is a mini crockpot.. I think they are used mainly for making dips and keeping them warm.. They only have a low setting.
