A friend & I just ate at Johnny Carino's yesterday (my first time). Does anyone know what they put in their dipping sauce for bread?

Don't know what's in Johnny Carino's but I'm sure its very similar to this one of Carrabbas (another favorite of ours). Hope this helps.

    Title: Carrabbas Italian Butter
    Categories: Misc
    Yield:

    1/8 t Basil
    1/8 t Oregano
    1/8 t Basil
    1/8 t Rosemary
    1/8 t Kosher Salt
    Fresh Black Pepper
    1 ds Red Pepper Flakes
    pn Salt
    1 ea Garlic,Crushed
2 T Extra Virgin Olive Oil

    Mix together your dry spices.
    Per each teaspoon served:
add crushed garlic to the dry spices.
    Place on small saucer.
Pour 2 tbsp olive oil over mixture.
Dip with your favorite hot french bread.

Carraba's really does have a great dipping sauce. Carino's I think is just oil garlic and Italian seasoning/herbs.

    OLIVE OIL DIPPING SAUCE

3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

6 cloves minced garlic (I think that maybe Carino's using garlic flakes, the dryed ones)

    1/2 tsp salt Italian seasoning

Combine ingredients and heat just until garlic begins to sizzle. Remove from heat. Dip your bread as desired!

I got this from wangerbanger.com which is no longer available. If this poster is correct, be careful you don't burn the garlic:
"I requested this from one of the waitresses @ Johnny Carino's. She said they add Basil, Oregano, Salt, Pepper and Thyme to EVOO. The garlic that is added to it is just roasted in the oven (don't forget to stir to avoid burning). I haven't gotten the exact portions figured out yet - if you do, please let me know!"
