ot: how to remove rust from Corningware
I found a corningware casserole dish in the
basement and have no idea how rust set in
it unless there was water and it dried up
Anyway - any ideas how to remove this
and make it look "sort of" new again
Thanks
Kate

Hi Kate,
Go to this website and read the whole article. It may contain something that will help you using household items.

Hi I always clean my corning ware with Easy Off oven cleaner. I spray on the corningware, put the piece on newspaper and leave for a couple of hours and then wash off. It comes out like it was brand new

Barkeeper's Friend cleanser will probably do the trick. It removes almost anything! Or you might try a Brillo or SOS pad. I use them to remove baked-on grease and they work very well. Maybe it would work on rust; it's worth a try.

I use baking soda to keep my corningware sparkling. Barbara

I had a brown spot on one of my dishes, and I used the cleaner that I clean my glass top stove with, it removed the spot. I have also found that the same cleaner will clean the glass door on my toaster oven.

A rust remover called WINK. It's very powerful but since Corningware is non-porous, it won't hurt it or soak into it. It would be just like cleaning a porcelain sink with it.

The product is "WHINK" - does a great job on many surfaces.
Comes in a six-ounce bronze-brown colored bottle. Available at Wal-Mart and K-Mart, as well as many supermarkets and hardware stores, found with the cleaning supplies.

Liquid Zud...if you can find it in liquid. Easy to find in the dry shaker form, but that might scratch the Corning Ware. Zud is the BEST for removing rust.

you could try the Magic eraser from Mr clean. It takes rust off of the Corelle dishes by Corning. And all you need is elbow grease and water.
