I usually keep Blue Bonnet margarine in the freezer to sometimes use in baking. Some recipes do better with margarine then butter. I noticed this recipe on the back of the box. I thought I'd try it. The ingredients are minimal and not so involved as the other cookie recipes. Has anyone made these? I'm using bittersweet chocolate chips. Here is the recipe.

    Blue Bonnet Chocolate Chip Cookies

    2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) Blue Bonnet®-stick, melted, cooled
1-1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels

Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
Mix Blue Bonnet and sugar in large bowl. Add egg and vanilla; stir until well blended. Add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in chocolate morsels. Refrigerate dough 30 minutes before baking.
Drop by 1/4 cupfuls, 2-1/2 inches apart, onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake 14 minutes, or until cookies harden around edges. (Centers will still be soft.) Let rest 2 minutes before removing to wire racks; cool completely.

I made these and they are terrific. DH said they tasted just like the Harry and David gourmet cookies. I used a cookie scoop that was less then the 1/4 cup suggested size. The batter baked into a high fluffy melt in your mouth cookie. I will use butter in my next batch to see if there is any taste difference. These will certainly be on my Christmas cookie list.

I'm glad to hear your review. I've been meaning to try these myself and never got around to doing so. Please post a review if you try them with real butter. Thanks, Kim

These are the new family fave after my daughter made them for a 4-H project. She mixes them by hand easily.

I made these for a bake sale and they sold first with people asking to give me orders for Christmas. I felt bad * for not saying hey the recipe is on the box of margarine!

    * NOT!

Would you consider these a "chewy" Chocolate chip cookie? I am looking for a new chewier cookie than I usually make. Thanks.

These cookies are not flat. They rise up big and puffy. They are not crisp or thick doughy tasting. More like a bannana bread texture.

I make these cookies a lot, they are wonderful! I go back in forth between these and the one on the butter flavored Crisco can.

I have made these cookies two times. I used butter both times. Absolutely the best chocolate chip cookie. They are ginormous!
