Cut hot dog in thirds. Wrap each in half slices of bacon and secure wuth a toothpick. Place in crock pot. Top with 1lb brown sugar. Cook all day or night on low. This is not for the faint of heart. Tasty. No calories at all (LOL).

    Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies

    Bacon
    Brown sugar
    Pkg. of little smokies sausages
    toothpicks

(Made these today for a get-to-gether. I no sooner uncovered the crockpot and they were gone. )

Just cut your bacon strips in 1/3 's ..and wrap each smokie with a piece of bacon, securing with a toothpick.

Dip one side of the bacon wrapped smokie in a little brown sugar.

Place on a cookie sheet . (Can use that non-stick tin foil)

Bake at 400 degrees for about 30-45 minutes until the bacon is done and the sugar carmalizes just a bit. Turn the smokies over after about 15 minutes until done baking.

    Keep warm in your crockpot.

I always used regular size hot dogs and cut them into thirds

Cut a slice of bacon in half or thirds

    secure around the hot dog.

Dip one side in brown sugar

    and

Then baked them like the last poster.

you can do the same thing with chicken livers or chicken gizzards.

marinate meat over night with soy sauce, meat- marinade

slice bacon in halves, lay halves on cutting board,

put sliced water-chestnut on bacon half.

put meat ( mini-hotdog, shrimp, liver, gizzard, heart on chestnut

    roll up, seam side down

broil until done, or bake until brown

    use meat therometer

Intersting seeing the recipes posted. Never used the brown sugar. Here is how I learned many years ago to make them...

Take a hot dog and cut them into bites or use little hotdogs

Slice a thin line in the hotdog with a knife not perforating to the bottom of the hotdog.

Add a slice of cheese in slitted area. You can also do some without cheese.

Wrap a piece of bacon around the outside of the hotdog, pinning it edge to slightly overlapping edge.

Place on the grill or in a baking pan or cookie sheet until bacon is crisp in a 350 degree oven. Then Enjoy!
