Made this and everyone wanted the recipe.\ORANGE PINEAPPLE COBBLER

2 - 20 oz. cans pineapple chunks, drained, reserve juice
1 - 11 oz. can mandarin oranges, drained, discard juice
    2 - 3 oz. boxes orange Jello
1 - package Duncan Hines pineapple cake mix
    1 - stick butter
    1 1/2 cups water

Grease a 9X13 glass pan, and add the following, layer by layer, WITHOUT STIRRING:

In the bottom of the pan, empty pineapple chunks and mandarin oranges. Add 1 1/2 cups of reserved pineapple juice. Sprinke dry orange Jello over pineapples, oranges, and juice. Pour dry cake mix evenly over top; dot with slices butter. Carefully pour water over top of all layers - DO NOT STIR!

Put pan on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes, until top layer is done and starts to brown.

Be very careful when removing from oven - the bottom is still liquid!

Refrigerate until the bottom Jello layer is set.

Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

What an interesting recipe. Cold cobbler instead of hot. Sounds different and wonderful! I love orange desserts. So refreshing. Thanks for posting.

Do you think this would be ok done with sugar free jello for a diabetic friend of mine. I'm serving dessert at a pinochle party Wednesday and would like to make something she could enjoy with us.

I use sugar-free in every jello recipe and it always does fine.

Yes, I made it with sugar free jello. I couldn't understand why it didn't sit up till I reread the recipe and saw I was to put it in the refrigerator! lol

I went to the four grocery stores in town and nobody had pineapple cake mix, so I bought a Duncan Hines Orange Supreme and I'm going to try that. Wish me luck.....
