Here's one I use all the time. It's from a Catholic Church Cookbook. It's from a locally famous resturaunt in a town nearby that isn't in business anymore.

    Dreisbach's Coleslaw

    4 c. ground coleslaw
    1/2 c. ground carrots
    1/2 t. celery salt(I don't put this in)
    6 T. sour cream
    4 T. vinegar
3/4 c. salad dressing(I have used mayo and it turns out fine)
    5 T. sugar
    1 t. salt

    Mix all ingredients together. Serve.

My DH and I like this knock-off KFC cole slaw the best. Since it makes so much, I halve the recipe:

    KFC Cole Slaw

    8 cups finely chopped cabbage
    1/4 cup carrot, shredded
    2 Tbls. minced onion
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/8 tsp pepper
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 cup milk
    1/2 cup mayonnaise
    1/4 cup buttermilk
    1 1/2 Tbls white vinegar
    2 1/2 Tbls lemon juice

Cut cabbage and carrots into small pieces.(The food processor is great for this) In salad bowl, combine the sugar, salt, pepper, milk, mayonnaise, buttermilk, vinegar and lemon juice. Beat until smooth. Add the cabbage and carrots. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate.

I just made cole slaw dressing at my DIL's request at her house last Sunday. I don't use a recipe, I just mix and taste, till I get it just right.

I start out with Miracle Whip, add some sugar, vinegar, pinch of salt, pepper, and milk. I just stir and keep tasting till I get the taste I like. That's the way I learned from my MOM.

I've been using the same recipe that "Momaw" posted. I increase the amount of carrots (about 1 cup) but otherwise make it 'as is' using reduced fat Hellman's mayo. I think I prefer it without the onion, but have made it both ways.

I found the recipe on However, I don't like their fat free version of KFC cole slaw using Miracle Whip. But then, I've never been a fan of Miracle Whip anyways.
